Polanski, 76, had been working on completing The Ghost around the time when he was arrested and taken to prison.  He is being held in Zurich for his past history of sex crimes involving a minor, which dates back to 1977.

According to his friend, screenwriter Robert Harris, the director has been spending time behind bars completing his feature film, which is expected to be presented at the Berlin Film Festival in February.

Polanski finished editing the film the same day of his arrest in Switzerland. Since then, he has relayed instructions to composer Alexandre Desplat, who is in charge of the soundtrack.

The Ghost stars Pierce Brosnan in the role of a British prime minister accused of war crimes. Brosnan shares the screen with Ewan McGregor and Kim Cattrall.
