Snoop Dogg Arrested in Stockholm
Swedish police suspected that the star was using drugs. Known for his troubles with the law, the 35 year-old rapper was stopped in his car in the centre of Stockholm. Snoop Dogg was expected to perform a concert with P. Diddy Monday evening. The rapper was held for four hours before being released.
Snoop Dogg, whose real name is Calvin Broadus, appeared to be under the influence of drugs, according to police spokesperson Mats Brannlund. The rapper was arrested along with an unidentified female and both were required to submit a urine sample for analysis. Test results will not be availabe for two to three weeks.
According to a Swedish newspaper, the two were under the influence of marijuana. Marijuana was also found in the rapper’s hotel room.
Snoop Dogg will be ordered to pay a fine if found guilty of the charge, although he is free to leave the country. The star has had several problems with justice in the United States. In 1993 he was tried for murder, but was acquitted.
