The Rolling Stones and Madonna Honoured
The artists were honoured on Thursday at New York’s Roosevelt Hotel at the Billboard Touring Awards.
The Rolling Stones earned nearly $230 million from December 1, 2005 through September 29, 2006. The number of fans who got to see the band perform live during that time was close to two million.
Madonna took in $22 million in just eight performances at London’s Wembley Arena.
Other artists honoured during the event were Nickelback, Kenny Chesney, Cirque du Soleil, Elton John, Bob Ezrin and the Edge.
