TVA fires more than 500 employees, PKP explains why

It was quite a thunderclap in the television landscape that made itself felt mid-afternoon on Thursday (November 2), as TVA announced the layoff of more than 500 employees.

« TVA Group is no longer viable », we learned a little later from Pierre Karl Péladeau himself, who performed an astonishing exercise at a press conference detailing the reasons for and implications of this decision.

A decision that includes several others in an overall plan, including that of « refocusing TVA on its role as a broadcaster only ».

With the help of charts, PKP explains that digital platforms have forced a radical change in the Quebec television industry.

« We reiterate the urgent need to act, » Péladeau goes on to say.
