Head in the clouds ?? I’ve always been a dreamer. But as I got older I was told by people that I would never achieve these stupid dreams. That they were unrealistic and that I shouldn’t even try. I started to believe them and proceeded to do whatever was ?socially acceptable?. But there was always a little part of me that nagged at my heart and mind that kept saying ?why are you giving up … why are you listening to them??. So I finally decided to listen to it and do what made me happy. I started following my dreams and man was that the best decision I ever made. Don’t get me wrong it was one of the hardest decisions I made. I was constantly put down by many people around me (not to mention the internet can be so cruel as well). But I shut my ears and kept going. Looking back at my journey I wouldn’t have it any other way. I wake up in the morning feeling blessed and grateful knowing I’m doing what I love. Doing what makes me happy. I have the pleasure of talking to so many people from different walks of life and there’s definitely one thing I’ve noticed time and time again. I’ve noticed there are SO many people with incredible talents. I talk to them about their passion and I can see their face light up. The joy that radiates as they talk about their dreams is so heart warming. I always ask ?so why don’t you do it? Why don’t you follow your dream??. And I normally get the same few responses ?oh that’s not realistic? … ?I’ll start when I have this and that sorted? … ?I’m not good enough yet? … ?my parents would never let me?. As they say that I see the fire leave their eyes and the joy erase from their face. It’s such a sad thing to watch – how we let others impact us to a point where we’re living in sadness and regret. How we so easily accept that society knows what’s best for us even though they only know the smallest sliver of who we really are. How we truly believe were not good enough. I get it. I’ve been there. But I promise once you start to follow your dreams and block out the negativity your life will change. There’s no better feeling than seeing your dreams become your reality. So for now I’ll keep my head in the clouds and keep on dreaming.
