Will Smith Is the Most Powerful Star

Newsweek magazine has given the 38 year-old actor the title of the most powerful actor on the planet.  For the magazine, the most powerful star is chosen based on box office success around the globe, talent, personality, and the respect of filmmakers.  Will Smith demonstrated the best mix of those qualities when the magazine surveyed studio management, agents and producers.

The star of the films Independence Day, Men in Black and The Pursuit of Happyness, among others, was a unanimous choice.  Will Smith was followed by Johnny Depp and Ben Stiller on the list, who were second and third, respectively.
