As the final episode of the series Euphoria aired on Sunday, the production team accompanied this conclusion with a series of short videos titled Behind The Scenes. These clips offer fans an exclusive look behind the scenes of the shoot, production secrets, and testimonials from the cast throughout this final season.

In a video released immediately after the finale, Zendaya spoke about her journey on the show. The actress, who plays the character Rue, made a point of sending a message of thanks to the entire production team as well as her co-stars. Visibly moved, she emphasized the importance of this experience in her career and personal life.

“I just wanted to thank you,” she said on camera, addressing the team directly. She continued, adding: “I am so grateful to each and every one of you, and many of you have been here since the beginning and have watched me grow.” Her words reflect a deep attachment to the team that has supported her since the first season.

She concluded her remarks by saying, “It has been a true pleasure and an honor. Thank you so much.” A simple yet emotionally charged message that sums up the impact of this artistic journey for the actress and the entire production.

It’s worth noting that in the series, Rue’s character meets a tragic end, dying from an overdose of painkillers containing fentanyl. A shocking conclusion that, while deeply moving, aims to convey a powerful message about the consequences of addiction and the dangers of opioids.

A Beloved Character

The video then continues with comments from creator, writer, and director Sam Levinson.

“Zendaya’s performance has been absolutely magnificent and incredibly rich throughout these seasons,” he explains. “We’ve grown attached to this character, this imperfect, lost, yet deeply good young girl who tries, despite everything, to make the right choices—sometimes.”

He goes on to highlight his experience: “It’s an incredible opportunity to be able to work with such talented people, people I admire enormously. I feel very privileged.”

Later in the video, Sam Levinson reflects on the series’ conclusion, which he considers “the most honest ending.”

“The most honest ending is that people like Rue don’t make it,” he said.

Euphoria stands out as a powerful and impactful series, known for its raw realism and its unfiltered approach to difficult themes. This final season brings to a close a series that has deeply resonated with audiences, both for its acting performances and its emotional and social impact.
