Starting July 16, Montreal will host a temporary exhibition dedicated to Gilles Villeneuve, a major figure in motorsports and now recognized as a historical figure by the Government of Quebec.
Presented at Jean-Drapeau Park, this initiative is organized by the Société du parc Jean-Drapeau and the Gilles Villeneuve Foundation, in collaboration with GV27, the film “Villeneuve: The Rise of a Legend,” produced by Christal Films and distributed by Les Films Opale and Entract Films.
It also benefits from the support of Tourisme Montréal and the Government of Quebec.
Housed at the Aquatic Complex, the exhibition offers an immersive experience lasting approximately thirty minutes. Visitors will discover rare archival materials, iconic artifacts, replicas of historic cars, and clips showcasing the film’s special effects. The experience aims to bring to life the intensity, passion, and daring of Gilles Villeneuve, while tracing the major milestones of his international career and the lasting impact he left on the history of motorsports.
Designed for Formula 1 enthusiasts, families, and tourists, it is located in a place deeply connected to the driver’s legacy and the circuit that bears his name. The exhibition also aims to offer a memorable experience accessible to all visitors.
