A complicated history

Remember that this isn’t the first time Britney Spears has had run-ins with the law.

This is not Britney Spears’ first brush with the law. In 2007, she was charged with a hit-and-run, a case that was later dropped after she paid damages. The following year, the singer was hospitalized for a psychiatric evaluation. Her father, Jamie Spears, was then granted temporary guardianship over her assets, which was later extended.p>

This conservatorship lasted 13 years and led to the birth of the « Free Britney » movement, calling for its end. It was finally lifted in 2021. Since then, Britney has mainly appeared through her social media posts, including dance videos shared on Instagram. Recently, however, her account has been inaccessible.
