Convicted of sex trafficking of minors and found guilty of facilitating the abuse of Jeffrey Epstein, Ghislaine Maxwell has benefited from a highly controversial transfer under the Trump administration. Maxwell was moved from a prison in Florida to a very low-security prison camp in Texas.
Fraud or financial crime
This type of establishment mainly houses non-violent women, often convicted of fraud or financial offences, and among them the infamous Elizabeth Holmes, founder of Theranos, is also serving her sentence there.

This sudden transfer from prison comes just days after Ghislaine Maxwell, her lawyer and Assistant Attorney General Todd Blanche, Donald Trump's personal lawyer in his recent legal woes and recently revealed as a personal friend of Maxwell's lawyer (!), held two closed-door meetings, of which very few details have been made public.
