Trump accuses Obama of « treason » and being « seditious »

This time, Obama's team hit back hard.

Through his spokesman, the former president reacted to the accusations made by Donald Trump and his administration, which go so far as to accuse him of "treason".

Indeed, Obama called the forward "a weak attempt at distraction" as Trump finds himself mired in the Epstein scandal.

Trump accuses Obama, based on a report released by Tulsi Gabbard and the Office of the Director of National Intelligence, of concealing and manipulating key information indicating that there was "no indication of a Russian threat to directly manipulate the actual vote count in the 2016 election".

In his response, Obama calls these "bizarre allegations" and "outrageous claims" ridiculous, pointing out that even Trump's Secretary of State, Marco Rubio, was among the Republican elected officials who co-signed a joint Senate Intelligence Committee report in 2020 concluding that Russia had tried to help Trump's campaign in 2016.

As President Donald Trump desperately seeks to distance himself from the ongoing scandal of his handling of the Epstein case, which is tainting his administration in an unprecedented way, he took advantage of a press conference at the White House, attended by the President of the Philippines, to make new accusations.

In front of reporters, Trump declared that "It's time to go after people," claiming that Barack Obama was guilty of treason: "He's guilty. This was treason." The president described Obama's actions as "seditious" and claimed he "tried planning a coup."

Donald Trump added, referring to Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton: "They tried to steal the election". Speaking to reporters, he diverted attention to his opponents, throwing at them what he considers to be the real topic of interest, not the Epstein scandal: "The witch hunt that you should be talking about is they caught President Obama absolutely cold". Pure diversion (and perhaps a little projection) on the part of the current president?
