A Montrealer makes it in the NBA!

Bennedict Mathurin played his first official game in the NBA on Wednesday night, as the Indiana Pacers season started at home against the Washington Wizards. It is important to note that during the presentation of the players, he was warmly welcomed, proving that the fanatics of the club see “great” in him.

Even if the Pacers lost 114-107, the performance of the 20-year-old guard dazzled many. From his first shots on the floor, he won with two baskets from downtown to close the first quarter.

In the end, he delivered a colossal performance as a sixth man scoring 19 points, grabbing seven rebounds and dishing out two assists in 27:50 of playing time.

His family, including his 29-year-old older sister Jennifer, was thrilled with Bennedict’s first official performance. In fact, last summer, just before the draft, his sister decided to follow him wherever he went.

Katherine Harvey-Pinard, from La Presse, had the chance to speak with her and her brother live at the Starbucks near their apartment, and Jennifer opened up about her decision to mentor her younger brother.

She stressed that this step is a big step for her brother, and she really wants to make that sacrifice to make sure it goes well. To make this happen, Jennifer quit her job as a coach with the Bishop’s University Gaiters.

Mathurin is only 20 years old, so Jennifer helps him coordinate appointments, handles the business side of basketball, and also helps him with the housework.

It’s simple, she plays the role of an agent, in addition to that of a big sister!

A very nice story.

Montreal bus hits building head-on

Early Thursday morning, a Montreal bus (STM – Société de transport de Montréal) collided head-on with a building, following an accident with a car.

This incident occurred in the La Petite-Patrie district, more precisely on Beaubien Street West, near Clark Street, where the other vehicle involved was driving south.

According to TVA Nouvelles, one of the two vehicles compromised itself by running a red light, which led the bus to crash into a building.

The driver of the bus was traveling without any passengers.

Neither driver was seriously injured, according to authorities who responded to the scene of the damage. As for the building’s residents, they were evacuated by firefighters and everyone was safe.

The tenants were not suddenly left out in the cold as a result of the impact and were kept warm in a bus until a solution was found for them.

Real Madrid has completely ridiculed Drake

Drake just lost a small fortune, $833,333.85, on Barcelona losing to Real Madrid.

The 35-year-old rapper bet a big amount on Arsenal, who were playing Leeds United, and Barcelona, who were fighting against Real Madrid.

While Arsenal won 1-0, Barcelona lost 3-1. Thus, due to this setback, Drake lost a whopping 867,190 euros, which comes to 833,333.85 US dollars.

If Champagne Papi had won his bet, his harvest in American dollars would have been 3.9 million dollars. A nice amount that would have added to Drake’s very deep pockets, but instead he lost several thousand dollars.

To celebrate this “occasion” (for Real), the Madrid Twitter account allowed itself a nice little joke towards Drizzy:

Just like that, God’s Plan is one of the most popular songs in Drake’s repertoire, which is a near perfect nod.

A cold war bunker has become an Airbnb

An unusual Airbnb can be found on the side of New Mexico. We can even point out that this type of Airbnb is unique in the world and very eccentric for a hot night. It is a bunker dating back to the cold war.

This shelter to counter the harmful effects of radiation, for example, is now a refuge that is for rent for travelers. It is a short-term rental and not for several weeks like a “standard” Airbnb.

Inside it, there is a bedroom for two people and a bathroom.

Jam Press/Airbnb

More photos can be accessed HERE.

On the ad for the publication, the following statement can be found:

“Get ready for one of the most impressive tours included in the price of your stay.”

The floor of the bunker is said to be original, while part of it has been renovated to give a “home-like” feel with all the amenities of a residence. Wi-Fi is actually available in this underground home.

The house rents for $450 and is located in the town of Roswell, and according to some beliefs, this place is the site of a “supposed” UFO crash.
