Keira Knightly Loves Nudity

The 22 year-old British star finds love scenes that require nudity in films to be liberating.  During an interview with Contactmusic, the star of the Pirates of the Caribbean films explained, "Sex scenes are easy. I don’t really have a problem with them."

Knightley first appeared nude in the horror film The Hole when she was 16.  She undressed again in 2005 for Domino.  She added, "Actually it was quite liberating in the movie Domino to be out in the middle of the desert completely topless with a beautiful Venezuelan guy (co-star Edgar Ramirez). I was very lucky.  I did have a body double for my bum but not on my top. I don’t have a problem with that."

Jennifer Lopez Performs In Private Concert

According to the American magazine People, the New Yorker was paid to give a performance at the birthday party of a Russian billionnaire.  During the party, Lopez sang for 40 minutes.

Andrei Melnichenko, who was celebrating his 35th birthday, paid $1.2 million for the performance, and an additional $800,000 to fly Lopez and her entourage to London for the party.

Melnichenko, who is estimated to be worth $5 billion, is the founder of the MDM bank.

The Edge Buys a New Home

According to a report yesterday in the Los Angeles Times, the residence is in a canyon.

The Edge, whose real name is Dave Evans, already owns homes in Ireland and France, and paid $15 million for the new property in the United States that sits on 120 acres.

Last weekend, the star also organised a charity auction to raise money for the musician victims of Hurricane Katrina, which hit New Orleans in 2005.

A New Trailer for Harry Potter

The film, which had a budget of $150 million, will open in theatres on July 13.  In the new adventure, Harry is beginning his fifth year at the Hogwarts Institute.  He now realizes that certain members of his school don’t want to talk about his recent encounter with the evil Lord Voldemort.

A new teacher is also hired by the Minister of Magic to keep an eye on the students at Hogwart.  He will teach them to defend themselves against evil after the announcement of a possible return of Dumbledore.

The Smashing Pumpkins Reveal Track List

The band’s sixth release, entitled Zeitgeist, is the first from the Pumpkins since 2000.  The album will be in stores on July 7.

On May 22, the band, led by Billy Corgan, will begin their European tour in Paris at the Theatre Grand Rex.  Their first performance to support the CD on American soil will be at the Live Earth concert in East Rutherford, New Jersey.

Madonna To Direct Film

The star, who is known for bringing controversial images to video, will soon be directing a comedy.  The small-budget movie, Filth and Wisdom, will begin filming in the next few days in London.

According to The Sun, the star has been given the approval and encouragement of her husband, director Guy Ritchie.  A source told the paper, "Madonna has Guy’s full support.  "She told him, ‘Anything you can do I can do better.’"

Musicians Raise Money for Katrina Victims

The event, which was organized by U2 guitarist The Edge, raised money to replace musical instruments that were lost when the natural disaster hit the southern United States in 2005.

Among the items up for auction were a guitar owned by The Edge, which sold for $240,000.  A pair of sunglasses that had belonged to U2 frontman, Bono, were sold for $20,000.  Also included in the sale were a 1966 Red Fender Mustang guitar that had belonged to Jimi Hendrix, a saxophone from former American President Bill Clinton, and round glasses that had belonged to the late John Lennon.

Oliver Stone Shares His Views on Iraq

The three-time Oscar winner, who served his country in Vietnam, is now demanding that the American government bring the soldiers home who are fighting in the Middle East.  The publicity campaign that Stone is working on has been organised by the MoveOn and VoteVets organisations.

In a statement, Stone explained, "America needs to listen to our servicemen and women. We have leaders in Washington who say they’re ‘supporting our troops’ – but the people who suffer most from their policies are the troops themselves."

Eric Bana Escapes Injury

The star of the film Munich was participating in the Targa Tasmania rally on Saturday in his home country. 

During the race, the 38 year-old actor misjudged a turn and sent his 1973 Ford XB off the track.  Bana explained, "We had been having a great day until then… But I misjudged a tight left-hander and we went in a little too fast – the car under-steered off the road and got onto the gravel and we went into a couple of trees at a fairly low speed. The car is a little battered on the driver’s side which is a real shame, as many hours had been spent reshaping its original panels to get it just right. It’s a real shame, but that’s motor racing."

Despite the accident, Bana and his co-pilot, Tony Ramunno, were not injured.

Are Paris Hilton and James Blunt Together?

The star of television’s The Simple Life and the You’re Beautiful singer have been spotted spending time together in Los Angeles.

According to the New York Post, the two were seen together on Wednesday at a California bar called Teddies.  A witness told the paper that the two stars were dancing and holding hands.

The English singer recently ended a relationship with supermodel Petra Nemcova.  Hilton had recently been dating Josh Henderson, who stars in the television series Desperate Housewives.

A spokesperson for James Blunt has not responded to the story.
