A Lip-Synch Controversy for Christina Aguilera

Last Friday, during a performance at New York’s Madison Square Garden, a technical problem caused speculation that the star was miming her songs.

Aguilera’s manager, Irving Azoff, told the New York Daily News, "Miss Aguilera is one of the most talented vocalists to ever grace the stage; however, we did have a technical problem with the sound equipment at the Garden."

Jennifer Aniston Is Still Single

For several weeks rumours have been circulating in Hollywood that Aniston is in lover with actor Sam Rockwell (Confessions of a Dangerous Mind).  The rumours gained momentum when the two stars were spotted sharing dinner in New York.

Rockwell did not reveal the reason for their dinner, but did mention that the former Friends star is a good friend, and that the two may be working together soon on a film.

Ironically, the next film starring Rockwell to be released is The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford, which also stars Aniston’s ex-husband, actor Brad Pitt.

Watch the Trailer for 28 Weeks Later

28 Weeks Later is set after a virus has annihilated the British Isles.  Six months later, the US Army declares that the war against the infection has been won, and the country begins reconstruction.  As families return to their homes and are reunited, it is discovered that the virus is not yet dead, and is now more dangerous than ever.

The Edge Donates Favourite Guitar

The musician decided to part with his instrument in order to raise funds for the victims of Hurricane Katrina.

The Edge is the co-founder of the Music Rising organisation which replaces musical equipment that was lost or destroyed in the hurricane.

The guitar will be one of 200 items that will be up for auction at the Icons of Music auction, which ends on April 21.  Among the other items will be a saxophone autographed by former American President Bill Clinton, and a music contract signed by Elvis Presley.

Hurricane Katrina hit the southern United States in August of 2005, killing 1,300 people.

Scott Weiland’s Wife Arrested

The 31 year-old woman was arrested by police outside the couple’s California home on Saturday.  Mary Weiland may be charged with felony arson and vandalism.  The clothes that were burned were estimated to be worth $10,000.

Earlier that day, the couple vandalized two rooms of a hotel during a domestic dispute.  Mary Weiland was released on a $50,000 bail.  The couple’s two children are currently staying with family friends.

Scott Weiland is well-known by the police.  He has spent time in prison for heroine abuse.  Weiland formed Velvet Revolver in 2002, and previously was the lead singer of the Stone Temple Pilots.

Prince Harry Gets Rowdy in Bar

According to photographs taken at three in the morning and released by the News of the World, Prince Harry was inebriated when he attacked a photographer.

Nirach Tanner has confirmed that he was the object of the young man’s aggression.  The prince ran after the photographer when he realized that he was taking pictures.

A spokesperson for the Royal Family later said that Prince Harry was on his way out of the pub when friends when he stumbled on the kerb and fell on the photographer.

This is not the first time that the 22 year-old prince has had trouble with photographers.  In 2004, he had a similar incident when leaving a nightclub.

Leonardo DiCaprio To Team With Scorsese Again

According to Variety, the star duo who brought Scorsese his first Oscar with the film The Departed, will next work on a film about Wall Street.

In the true story, DiCaprio will play Jordan Belfort, a stockbroker who spent 20 months in prison in the 1990s for refusing to cooperate with authorities regarding corruption in the world of investments.

Belfort’s autobiography, which is the basis for the film, will be published in September.

The beginning of production for The Wolf of Wall Street has not yet been announced.

Elton John Celebrates His Birthday

The star was introduced by former American President Bill Clinton at New York’s Madison Square Garden.

Elton John, whose real name is Reginald Kenneth Dwight, was performing at the venue for, coincidentally, the 60th time.  Elton John told the crowd, "I knew I had done 59 shows at Madison Square Garden and I said the only place I want to be is New York City on my 60th birthday."

Several celebrities were on hand at the event, including Bette Midler, Elizabeth Hurley, Donatella Versace, Pierce Brosnan and Ozzy Osbourne.

Since his first success, Your Song in 1971, Elton John has sold more than 200 million discs around the world.

No More Trash for Naomi Campbell

After working for five days cleaning a municpal garage in the city, Campbell left the assignment wearing a Doce & Gabbana dress, being picked up in a Rolls-Royce.

The British model left her work behind and then went to a birthday party for singer Elton John.

Campbell had been sentenced by a judge to community service after being found guilty of assault when she attacked her cleaning woman with a cellular telephone.

Emma Watson to Star in Harry Potter

The 16 year-old star will return for the final films about the young sorcerer, after threatening not to return.

Warner has confirmed that Daniel Radcliffe, Rupert Grint and Emma Watson will all be returning to their roles for the films Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince and Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows.
