Tori Spelling Is a Mother

Spelling and her husband, actor Dean McDermott, are the proud parents of Liam Aaron McDermott, who was born March 13 in Los Angeles.  The couple went to Cedars Sinai hospital Monday evening after Tori’s water broke. 

The baby is the first child for Spelling.  McDermott is already the father of an 8 year-old son and a one year-old daughter.

Spelling and McDermott had been dating for less than a year when they married in May 2006.

Angelina Jolie Adoption Moves Closer

The star and her companion, actor Brad Pitt, have been given confirmation from Vietnamese authorities that they will be permitted to adopt a three and a half year-old son at the end of the month.

According to the Associated Press, the authorities in Ho Chi Minh have accepted the formal request by Jolie to adopt the boy.

Jolie, 31, and Pitt, 43, visited the Tam Binh orphanage in Vietnam last fall.

Bryce Dallas Howard to Replace Lindsay Lohan

According to Production Weekly, the star of the films The Village, Lady in the Water and Manderlay has joined the cast of the feature film.  Last November, it was announced that Lindsay Lohan would have the lead female role, although Howard will now take the role.

Bryce Dallas Howard will play a wealthy rebel, Fisher Willow, who goes against the grain with the hopes of escaping the grip of her father.

In addition to Howard, The Loss of a Teardrop Diamond will also star Chris Evans, Ellen Burstyn and David Strathairn.  Filming is set to begin before the end of the year in Louisiana.

John Lennon Songs to Aid Darfur

Songs by the late John Lennon will be recorded by Christina Aguilera, Corinne Baily Rae, Green Day, Snow Patrol, Jack Johnson and R.E.M.  The CD will be available on June 12.

Twenty songs written by the former Beatle are expected to be on the disc, which is being produced to aid the Sudan population affected by war.  Lennon’s widow, Yoko Ono, has donated all of the royalties for the CD.

The first single from the collection, #9 Dream, originally recorded for the Walls and Bridges album in 1974, will be recorded by R.E.M.

Leonardo DiCaprio Causes a Stir

The couple arrived Saturday night in the country.  For the Hollywood star, it would be a special occaision to meet the parents of his 21 year-old girlfriend in Tel-Aviv.

Leonardo DiCaprio and Bar Refaeli have been dating for six months.  The beautiful brunette was featured in the last edition of Sports Illustrated magazine.

Two of DiCaprio’s body guards were arrested after an altercation with paparazzis when the star couple visited the village of Jerusalem.

Kate Moss Does Print Interview

In a rare interview that will be published in Britain’s Vogue magazine, the 33 year-old talks about her private life and motherhood to her daughter, Lila. 

Moss reveals that her daughter is obsessed with fashion, and that the two of them pick her clothes out each night before bed.  The runway star adds that little Lila looks very much like her mother.  Moss explained, "She’s a Mini-Me. I think she looks like her dad (Jefferson Hack), but there are some bits of me."

Details on the New Jennifer Lopez Disc

The CD, entitled Como Ama Una Mujer, will be preceded by the single Que Hiciste.  The Spanish-language collection, with 11 songs, was produced by Lopez’s husband, singer Marc Anthony.

For the singer, it will be her seventh disc, although her first foreign-language release.

Snoop Dogg Arrested in Stockholm

Swedish police suspected that the star was using drugs.  Known for his troubles with the law, the 35 year-old rapper was stopped in his car in the centre of Stockholm.  Snoop Dogg was expected to perform a concert with P. Diddy Monday evening.  The rapper was held for four hours before being released.

Snoop Dogg, whose real name is Calvin Broadus, appeared to be under the influence of drugs, according to police spokesperson Mats Brannlund.  The rapper was arrested along with an unidentified female and both were required to submit a urine sample for analysis.  Test results will not be availabe for two to three weeks.

According to a Swedish newspaper, the two were under the influence of marijuana.  Marijuana was also found in the rapper’s hotel room.

Snoop Dogg will be ordered to pay a fine if found guilty of the charge, although he is free to leave the country.  The star has had several problems with justice in the United States.  In 1993 he was tried for murder, but was acquitted.

Jack Black to Star in Ben Stiller Film

The comedy will also star Robert Downey Jr. and Jay Baruchel.  Tropic Thunder follows the story of five actors who go on location to shoot a film in a military camp.  Soon the actors are stuck in a real war-like situation.

According to Prodution Weekly, Black will play Jeff "Fats" Portnoy, an overweight comedian who is forced to kick his drug addiction while filming in the jungle.

Filming for Tropic Thunder will begin in July and the movie is expected to be in theatres in July of 2008.
