Sex and the City – The Film

Tuesday in Los Angeles, one of the show’s stars, Kristin Davis, revealed that the project is coming closer and closer to reality.  The actress told USA Today that she will not accept other projects now so that she is free for Sex and the City.

"It’s the most talked-about, non-greenlit movie ever," Davis told USA Today. "The second we’re in preproduction, I’ll be sending out invitations to the first day of shooting."

Davis also revealed that the series director, Michael Patrick King, has already been working on the script.

Since the end of the original series in 2004, negotiations between the four stars of the production have been difficult.

Ashlee Simpson Prepares Next Disc

The younger sister of Jessica Simpson is very busy writing for her third CD.  During an interview with MTV, Ashlee Simpson revealed that her next disc will be more intimate.  She explained, "It’s cool because on my last two records I was writing with the same people and now I’m writing with a bunch of different people. I’m writing with my guitar player Ray [Brady] and just seeing where it goes."

Ashlee Simpson’s last CD, I Am Me, was released in 2005.

Ralph Fiennes Makes Headlines Again

Fiennes, 44, who starred in the films Schindler’s List, The Constant Gardener, and The English Patient, among others, was recently spotted in Belgium swimming in a hotel pool with four nude women.

The actor, who is in Belgium making the film In Bruges, and his "friends" were making so much noise that they were disturbing the other hotel guests.

This is the second time in a few weeks that the actor has been involved in a scandal.  Last month, a flight attendant with Quantas airline revealed that the actor made sexual advances toward her in an aircraft toilet.

Matthew McConaughey To Star in Surfer, Dude

Filming on the project will begin on May 7, under the direction of S.R. Bindler, a documentary director.  No other details have been disclosed at this time.

Matthew McConaughey is currently in Australia working on the film Fool’s Gold.

Names Added to Canada’s Walk of Fame

In addition to the rockers, actress Catherine O’Hara, journalist Lloyd Robertson, hockey player Johnny Bower, Rick Hansen, actor Gordon Pinsent, filmmaker Ivan Reitman and television star Jill Hennessy will take their place on the walk.

The official ceremony will be held on June 9.  Canada’s Walk of Fame is located in Toronto’s entertainment district, and already includes Alanis Morissette, Paul Anka, Jim Carrey, Shania Twain, William Hutt, Wayne Gretzky and Michael J. Fox.

Pierce Brosnan Joins Mamma Mia!

Universal will begin production on the film adaptation of the popular musical this June in London and Greece.  Brosnan, who demonstrated his singing talent in the film Evelyn, will play Sam.

During an interview with Variety magazine, the actor shared his excitement to work on the project.  Brosnan said, "I said yes right away because it meant working with Meryl Streep."

The actor added, "I saw the show with my family in London, and found it just so wonderfully happy and joyful."

Phyllida Lloyd will direct the film.  She has also directed the stage production in London and on Broadway.

Mamma Mia! includes 22 songs from the musical group ABBA, including Dancing Queen, Take a Chance on Me and Winner Takes It All.

Linkin Park Plans Next Release

After spending the last 14 months in a recording studio, Linkin Park is finally ready to release their latest collection of 17 songs.

The band’s guitarist, Brad Delson, told Billboard magazine, "This was a year-and-a-half long process of really hard work and experimentation in the studio that yielded about 150 rough songs."

With the album’s production behind them, the members of Linkin Park are now preparing for their upcoming tour, which begins on May 6.

Robbie Williams Leaves Rehab Centre

The Angel singer spent three weeks at an Arizona clinic for treatment for an addiction to prescription medication.

A spokesperson for the former Take That singer confirmed that he left the treatment centre a week early, but claims that Williams has entered an "after-care programme in Los Angeles".

This is not the first time that the British star has undergone treatment for the problem.  In 1995, he was treated for dependence on both drugs and alcohol.

Hugh Grant’s Beauty Secret

According to the website Contactmusic, Grant, 46, has found that elastic bands worn around the face can help create a look of youthfulness.  The star believes that the bands give the same effect as having surgery.

For his latest film, Music & Lyrics, the British actor used the bands while he played a pop star from the 1980s.  Grant explained, "I loved it and refused to take it off for a week!"

Cameron Diaz Has a New Man

According to the New York Daily News, Diaz, 34, has been spotted kissing rapper Tyrese Gibson, 28.  The two celebrities were together at the Los Angeles nightclub Xenii, where it seemed obvious that they had feelings for eachother.

A representative for the actress denies rumours that Diaz is dating the young man.  Since her split from Justin Timberlake, Diaz has been seen in the company of a few different men.
