Neil Patrick Harris Comes Out

The star of the television series How I Met Your Mother is putting all speculations to rest concerning his sexual orientation.

The 33 year-old actor has chosen to share the news with People magazine.  He says, "(I) am quite proud to say that I am a very content gay man living my life to the fullest."

The first rumours that the actor was gay began when he introduced a male friend to members of his television cast.

Kylie Minogue Makes Her Return

Eighteen months have passed since the 38 year-old star was diagnosed with the disease and called off her world tour.

Next Saturday, the Showgirl world tour will return where it left off, in Australia.

When she arrived at Sydney’s airport, the singer seemed to be very happy to be back on her country’s soil.  She said, "I’m thrilled to be back – I’ve been waiting for this day for such a long time."

Minogue will perform three concerts at the Sydney Entertainment Centre, and five times in Australia before Christmas.  She will begin the European portion of the tour in the new year.

Beck To Be A Father Again

Marissa Ribisi (the sister of actor Giovanni Ribisi) is expected to give birth to her second baby in April.  The two are already the parents of a son, Cosimo, born in May, 2004.

Kate Moss Named Model of the Year

Just one year after a drug scandal, Moss was given the most important award in British fashion at Thursday’s British Fashion Awards.

Moss fell into disgrace last year when photographs of her using cocaine were published in the Daily Mirror.  The star lost several lucrative contracts due to the scandal.  After completing a detoxification program, Moss has re-entered the scene, and has become the most popular model in the world.  She is currently appearing in 14 advertising campaigns around the world.

"Kate Moss is a fashion icon and without a doubt one of the most prolific models in the industry," a British Fashion Awards spokeswoman said; "She has now been modelling for over 15 years and remains at the top of her game."

Shakira is Big Winner At Latin Grammy Awards

The Columbian singer was awarded the Best Album prize (Fijacion Oral Vol. 1), Best Song and Best Song and Best Record (La Tortura), as well as being named Best Pop Singer.

The Puerto Rican band Calle 13 also had a winning night, earning three awards, including Best New Artist.

Argentinian rock star Gustavo Cerati earned two trophies.  Singer Ricky Martin was named Person of the Year for his social aid work benefitting children.

Sex and the City – The Film?

The adventures of the four New York women may finally be coming to film, according to OK! magazine.

Following several difficult negotiations with the four stars, Sarah Jessica Parker, Kristin Davis, Kim Cattrall and Cynthia Nixon, it seems that the project now has a green light.  The well-know television series ended in 2004.

A studio insider told the magazine: "Obviously, there is still a lot to be worked out contractually, but it would be amazing to get this project off the ground."

Bruce Willis to Team with Samuel L. Jackson

The two stars, who co-starred in Die Hard: With a Vengeance, will be working together in a film which centres on the shipping of illegal firearms across the border.

According to Production Weekly, Black Water Transit will begin shooting next summer, along with Vin Diesel.  Filming will begin in February in New Orleans without Diesel.

Tom Cruise Joins United Artists

United Artists, which is owned by MGM, is a fledgling studio which hopes to be ressurected by the most popular actor in Hollywood.

Founded in 1919 by Charlie Chaplin, among others.  United Artists will be led by Cruise now that his 14 year relationship with Paramount ended in August.  The plan is for Wagner to become the studio president, and Cruise will produce and star in the studio’s projects.  The two plan to produce four films each year.

For several years, United Artists brought small-budget films to the big screen.  Despite all, the studio has managed to produce success films such as Bowling for Columbine from Michael Moore, Hotel Rwanda and No Man’s Land.

Justin Timberlake Crowned in Europe

Timberlake, who also hosted the evening, was named Best Pop Artist and Singer of the Year.

The Red Hot Chili Peppers, who dominated the nominations (4), left only with one prize, the Album of the Year for Stadium Arcadium.

Singer Christina Aguilera was named Singer of the Year, while Madonna was left out of the winners’ circle, despite being nominated in three categories.

The Song of the Year was given to Gnarls Barkley for the single Crazy.

British pop veterans Depeche Mode were also named the Group of the Year.

The ceremony took place in the Danish capital of Coppenhagen, with 8,000 enthusiastic fans.  The show was televised in 17 different countries.

Oliver Stone Teams With China

The Oscar winner will go behind the camera to create a five-minute promo for the 2008 Olympic Games.  The project hopes to bring "cultural exchange" between Beijing and the rest of the world.

The short film will be presented on television, in theatres, and on flights in China and abroad. 

Stone said of the project, "Today, many peoples of the world can live in harmony, and China plays an important role.  China and the United States are two big countries that should have more interaction. My goal in shooting this Olympic short film also lies in this – the need to build a harmonious international society."
