Heather Mills McCartney Goes Sues for Libel

According to lawyers for the 38 year-old former model, the London Evening Standard and the Daily Mail both wrote false and immensely upsetting stories.  In addition to the two publications, The Sun will also soon face charges.

McCartney Mills is going through a very public divorce after four years of marriage.  She is constantly being followed by the media and her private life has been taken away.  In a statement, her lawyers wrote, "It would appear that the media has concluded that there are no limits to what may be said about, or done to, our client."

It added: "She is stalked by press photographers, who congregate outside her home and chase after her in cars – regardless of her safety or the safety of her daughter."

Kurt Cobain Surpasses Elvis

Leaving the world does not mean that stars can’t still earn money, and sometimes their fortunes grow larger after their death.

The American magazine Forbes estimates that the former Nirvana singer is earning the most money.  According to the publication, Cobain earned $50 million last year.

Kurt Cobain died twleve years ago at the age of 27.  Elvis Presley is in the second spot on the list of deceased money earners.  The King earned $42 million last year.

Here is the top ten list of deceased money earners for the year 2005-2006:

George Clooney Named Man’s Man

Clooney was selected from a list of more than 15,000 men via a survey conducted by AskMen.com.  The star first gained attention in 1994 while playing Dr. Douglas Ross in the television series ER.  In 1996, he was named as one of the top 50 sexiest people, and in 1997 he topped that list.

Clooney edged out competition from Jay-Z, Richard Branson, cyclist Lance Armstrong, and fashion designer Tom Ford.

Tom Cruise Still Shines

Cruise, who starred in the Mission: Impossible films, among others, is ready to work with Robert Redford in the film Lions for Lambs.  The war drama will follow events in Arghanistan.

The Hollywood star is also in talks to team with Danny De Vito in the film I Married a Witch.  In the project, a Gulf War veteran has to take care of an orphan.

Cruise is also in negotiations to star in Selling Time, to be directed by Spike Lee.  In the film, a man makes a deal to change the worst day of his life.

Rumours are also circulating that Tom Cruise will marry Katie Holmes next month.

Gwen Stefani To Release Disc in December

The news was confirmed by the star’s record label, Interscope Records.  The new CD, entitled The Sweet Escape, will be led by the single Wind It Up.

Stefani shared her thoughts on the new album on hew website, saying, "This is definitely another dance record but the sound has evolved a lot over the last two years as I’ve gone in and out of the studio. It’s more melodic and very modern."

The Californian singer will start touring in April.

Pussycat Dolls Singer To Go Solo

The singer recently told MTV that she can continue to be a part of the Pussycat Dolls in addition to her solo work.  "I’m excited because it’s really fresh, something new," she said. "I like to sing a lot of styles and kinds of music, so it’s kind of an infusion of all kinds of things."

The pretty brunette, who has yet to decide what name she will use for her CD, insists that her solo work does not mean the end of the Pussycat Dolls.

The six women in the band will soon be touring North America with Christina Aguilera.  Scherzinger also added that she would like to work as an actress.  She has had a few television spots since joining the band.

Nelly Furtado To Sing at the Grey Cup

The Canadian Football League (CFL) confirmed on Friday that they have chosen the Victoria singer to perform.

Furtado, who had much success with her third CD, Loose, follows in the footsteps of The Black Eyed Peas, Bryan Adams, Sam Roberts, Shania Twain and The Tragically Hip, who have all performed half-time shows.

The national anthem will be performed by the 19 year-old winner of Canadian Idol, Eva Avila.

The Grey Cup, the biggest game in Canadian football, will take place on November 25 in Winnipeg.

Studios Pull Out of Peter Jackson Film

Jackson, who directed the Lord of the Rings trilogy, was working on the film Halo.

Directors at Fox and Universal studios weren’t interested in the film, which is an adaptation of a video game of the same name.

The studios had previously asked Jackson, and the video game creator, Microsoft, to lower their profit margins in order to make the film.  The project was expected to cost $145 million.

Daniel Radcliffe To Appear Nude

The 17 year-old star will be appearing nude in the London stage production of Equus.  The actor hopes to do something different so that he won’t be typecast as the sorcerer’s apprentice, according to Newsweek magazine.

Radcliffe explained, "Part of me wants to shake up people’s perception of me, just shove me in a blender."  The young actor will play a troubled man with an erotic obsession with horses.

For Radcliffe, it will be his first attempt to find other avenues for his acting talent.  He has played Harry Potter for 7 years.

Melissa Etheridge Becomes Parent of Twins

Little Miller Steven and Johnnie Rose were born on Tuesday, October 17.  The babies and their mother are in good health.

The couple announced the news to Access Hollywood, saying, "The creation of life brings about immeasurable love, and pours hope into the future. The joy will help carry us through our upcoming sleepless nights."

Etheridge is already the mother of two children, a boy, 6, and an eight year-old daughter, from her previous relationship with Julie Cypher. 

In October, 2004, the singer was diagnosed with breast cancer.  After months of treatment, she has returned to her public life.
