Paul McCartney Explains

McCartney, 64, replied to the allegations made by Heather Mills, through his lawyer and a public statement.

"Since the breakdown of his marriage Sir Paul McCartney has maintained his silence in not commenting on the media stories believing that it was best for all concerned, particularly his children, for there to be some dignity in what is a private matter. Our client would very much like to respond in public and in detail to the allegations made recently against him by his wife and published in the press but he recognises, on advice, that the only correct forum for his response to the allegations made against him is in the current divorce proceedings. Our client will be defending these allegations vigorously and appropriately."

The statement continued, "Our client is saddened by the breakdown of his marriage and requests that his family is allowed to conduct their personal affairs out of the media spotlight for the sake of everybody involved."

Earlier this week Heather Mills accused the former Beatle star of domestic violence.  The 38-year-old accused her husband whom she was married to for the last four years of hitting her, and being a heavy alcohol and drug user.

Sarah McLachlan Already Thinking of Her Next Album

The singer has a new CD for Christmas, and told Billboard that she has one song written for her next album.

MacLachlan won a Grammy for her former album, Afterglow, that was out in 2003.  She explained, "I’ve got one song written," and since the spring I’ve been focusing on this Christmas record. I’m gonna be promoting it up until the first week of December, and then come the new year I’ll definitely start focusing on a new record."

The singer is a mother of a four-year-old girl, and explained that she took her time before coming back into the spotlight. "I don’t want to miss any of it, and I’m selfish that way. Sure, maybe the career will suffer a little bit, but I’m doing just fine. I’m really happy, and I’m ridiculously ecstatic because of how far I’ve gotten in my career. I never imagined I would get this far, so I’m really just enjoying life and taking my time."

Singer of Radiohead May Bring the Tour to a Halt

For this English star, touring involves travelling, which he thinks is detrimental to the environment.

Yorke told the Guardian, "I think it’s a necessary part of what I do, to tour or play live, but I find it unacceptable what the consequences of that are. Some of our best ever shows have been in the US, but there’s 80,000 people there and they’ve all been sitting in traffic jams for five or six hours with their engines running to get there, which is bollocks."

He concluded, "I would consider refusing to tour on environmental grounds, if nothing started happening to change the way the touring operates."
