The Return of the Eagles

The band’s guitarist, Joe Walsh, revealed the news to Billboard magazine, explaining, "I would say the first half of next year we should be able to put out a new Eagles album."

The disc will be the first release from the band since 1979.  Walsh added, "It’ll be nice to have some new songs to play, ’cause we’re sick of the old ones!"

Tommy Lee’s Pilot Charged

The pilot, David Keith Martz, 49, landed the craft on a road outside a private residence in Hollywood to take Lee and his companions to the Nine Inch Nails concert.

Martz will face three charges including reckless operation of an aircraft, landing an aircraft on a public road, and landing an aircraft without a permit.  Each charge carries a possible six months in jail and a $1,000 fine.

Carmen Electra Still in Love With Ex-Husband

The flamboyant athlete, who was married to Electra for five months in 1998, recently told Star magazine that Electra has continued to pine for him since their split.

Rodman, 45, feels that her continuing love for him is one of the reasons behind her suprising split from her current husband, guitarist Dave Navarro.  Rodman said, "Carmen called me six months ago.  She told me I was the love of her life and she wished we’d stuck together."

The athlete told her, "We may meet up in Vegas or LA, and have a little talk."

Eva Green to Team with Nicole Kidman

The film is the first of a potential trilogy from Phillip Pullman’s His Dark Materials.  The movie will begin filming in September in London.

Green will play the role of Serafina Pekula, the queen of the witches, who guides a young woman on a journey through a parallel universe.  The beautiful French actress has just completed work on the James Bond film Casino Royale.

Earlier this week, the film’s producers confirmed that Australian actress Nicole Kidman had signed to play the villain, Mrs. Coulter.

The Golden Compass is planned for a release on November 16, 2007.

Pamela Anderson To Create Hair Care Line

The former Baywatch star is teaming with Bed Head to create the line of products for both humans and animals.  Anderson, who is an animal rights activist, revealed that she has also received a wedding gift from her new partner.  She said, "I received my first wedding present!  From my friends at Bed Head. I got the call that it is confirmed. I’m absolutely doing a whole line of hair care for people and animals. Only tested on humans of course."

Anderson suprised the world last weekend when she married her former boyfriend, Kid Rock.

George Clooney To Remake Pet Sematary

Based on a book by Stephen King, Pet Sematary follows the story of a family who moves to a small town in Maine, on the site of a former animal cemetary.  George Clooney would play the role of Doctor Cage in the horror film.

The first film hit the theatres in 1989.

The Pussycat Dolls Get TV Show

The project will be entitled The Search for the Next Pussycat Doll, and will air during the 2006-2007 season.

On the show, a diverse group of women will live together while competing for the chance to join the group, and will be evaluated on their singing and dancing skills.

The Pussycat Dolls are Ashley Roberts, Melody Thornton, Kimberly Wyatt, Nicole Scherzinger, Carmit Bachar and Jessica Sutta.

Axl Rose Leaves Stage Ill

The incident happened at the last show of their European tour.  Against recommendations by doctors backstage, Rose attempted to perform, but was unable to complete the show.

Skid Row singer Sebastian Bach stepped in for the ill star at Wembley Arena.  "I want to thank everyone in Europe and the UK for inspiring us and for giving us the opportunity to play for them," Rose said.

Guns N’ Roses, who begins the American portion of their tour in September, performed 32 concerts in Europe for more than 700,000 fans.

Cher’s Charity Auction

Sotheby and Julien’s Auctions have announced that on October 3 and 4, more than 700 personal objects belonging to the star will be sold.  Among the items are clothing, jewellery, art, and the gown worn by Cher when she earned an Oscar.

"I am beginning a new chapter in my career and have decided to rewrite my personal environment, my home," Cher said in a statement.

The organisers of the auction hope to raise one million dollars for charity.

Mel Gibson Enters Treatment Centre

The news was announced by a spokesperson for the star, Alan Nierob, who said, "He definitely entered a program."  Nierob did not offer specific information regarding the program for the Leathal Weapon star.

Gibson’s decision to undergo treatment comes just days after being arrested for drunk driving in Malibu, California.

Saturday, the 50 year-old actor made a public apology for his attitude with the police during the incident.
