BIG AdminThe Star Wars star will play the daughter of adventurer Indiana Jones in the next film. The actress is a friend of the project’s director and producer, George Lucas. Indiana Jones will again star Harrison Ford in the title role.
The news was announced by Karen Allen, who played the love of the adventurer in Indiana Jones and the Raiders of the Lost Arc.
In addition to Ford and Portman, Jake Gyllenhaal and Sean Connery will also star in the film, which is due to be released in 2008.
The star of the Kill Bill film series has ended her relationship with hotel man Andre Balazs. Although the two recently took a vacation together for Saint-Tropez, France, the actress confirmed the news, saying, "I’ve been in and out of a relationship with a wonderful man, and I’m out of it now."
Royce Mathew claims that the producers of 2003’s Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl, and Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man’s Chest used his project called Supernatural Pirate Movie as a blueprint for their successful films.
In his synopsis, Mathew has a captain traveling the seas on his ship called the Black Pearl, the same name as the one used in the Disney films. The writer adds that his story also had characters named Will Turner and Elizabeth. In the Disney films, the same characters are played by Orlando Bloom and Keira Knightley.
According to Mathew, he has already copyrighted his story in the United States. He is suing the Walt Disney Company, Buena Vista Home Entertainment, Touchstone Home Video and producer Jerry Bruckheimer.
Lionsgate studios hopes to produce the film next winter under the direction of David Moreau and Xavier Palud.
The Eye follows the story of a woman who receives a cornea transplant. When she begins to see images through her eyes, she decides to learn more about the cornea’s previous owner.
The film was originally produced in Hong Kong in 2002 by Oxide Pang. This is not the first time that Hollywood has attempted to do this movie. In 2002, actress Renee Zellweger refused the role, and producers dropped the project.
