Latest Music Releases

The album, which is only 40 minutes in length, includes nine songs.  Yorke produced the collection primarily on his laptop computer, without all of the guitars and synthesizers normally associated with Radiohead songs.

Another major release this week is from the English band Muse.  The band is now gaining popularity across the Atlantic, and is currently considered to be a British rock phenomenon.

    Lindsay Lohan Poses for GQ

    The pretty star will be appearing in the August edition of the men’s magazine.  Lohan does not mind having herself appear in such a sexy spread.  "It’s my body. And I like my body. And I like my breasts. And no, they’re not fake," Lohan told the mag. "I think a woman’s body is so much more sensual than a man’s. I’m not saying strip off all your clothes, but there are certain photos I like people taking of me, where I’m comfortable. As long as it’s tasteful … why not?"

    The Killers to Release Disc in October

    Entitled Sam’s Town, the disc will be in stores in England on October 2, and shortly thereafter in America.

    In 2004, the Las Vegas group released their first album, Hot Fuss.

    Samuel L. Jackson To Star in Thriller

    The film, directed by Doug Liman (Mr. and Mrs. Smith), is about a kid from a broken home who discovers that he has the ability to teleport.  This ability soon draws the attention of the NSA (National Security Agency).

    In addition to Jackson, the film also stars Tom Sturridge, Jamie Bell and Teresa Palmer.  Filming for Jumper will take place in Tokyo, Rome, Toronto and New York.

    Angelina Jolie To Star in Kung Fu Panda

    According to USA Today, the Hollywood actress will play Tigress, a martial arts master, for the film which will be released in 2008.

    Jolie will join Jack Black, the main character, Po, a panda who loves kung fu, but just doesn’t have the physique for it.  Dustin Hoffman, Jackie Chan, Lucy Liu and Ian McShane will also give their voices to the project.

    Justin Timberlake Wants to Change the Sound of Pop

    The American star revealed his plans last Friday in Paris.  He told journalists that he is very excited for the release of his next disc, due out September 12.  "I realize that I have a platform to push the sound of pop music. That’s the only responsibility that I put on myself in recording the album," Timberlake told reporters in Paris. "If I’m not going to push it, then who’s going to push it?"

    Timberlake’s last album was Justified in 2002.  The star earned a Grammy Award for Best Pop Album and Best Singer that year.

    Pirates of the Caribbean Sets Record

    During the film’s first three days in North American theatres, the film earned $132 million, beating the previous opening weekend record of $115 million, earned by Spider-Man in 2002.

    The film may be headed to earn more than the movie’s prequel, which was a huge success, earning more than $654 million at box offices world wide.

    Massive Attack to Start Tour

    The Brits are embarking on their first North American tour since 1998.

    The band will first take the stage on September 10 at Toronto’s Virgin Festival.  The three-week tour will make a stop in Montreal, and then travel to the United States, where it will finish in New York City.

    Massive Attack’s next album, Weather Underground, is expected to be released in 2007.

    Robert Downey Jr. to Write His Memories

    The Hollywood star will recount the highs and lows of his life as a star.  The Chaplin star, 41, will include his memoires from his troubled times in the 1990s, when he was imprisoned for drug problems, and his recovery process that followed.

    The star, who is currently working on the animated film A Scanner Darkly.

    Kate Moss Joins Agent Provacateur

    The star, who is rising again after her drug problems last year, has signed a lucrative contract with the brand to star in their next advertising campaign.  Moss will appear in four commericals for the company, which will be released in September.

    According to the Daily Mirror, "Kate will play the mysterious lady, the scarlet woman that everyone wants to be. She looks sensational."

    The supermodel’s career was sidetracked last year, after photographs of her using cocaine were published in the tabloids.  Shortly after, nearly all of Moss’ contracts were revoked.  Moss entered a drug treatment facility, and is getting back on track.  She is expected to earn more than $20 million US this year.
