Annie Lennox Receives Honours

Lennox, who was part of the musical group the Eurythmics, was thrilled at the honour, although she wasn’t sure that she was worthy to be in a class of people who have all been professional and classically trained.  Lennox said, "What I have done with my life has all been about self-invention and I didn’t have degrees or qualifications or anyone to guide me and I still work very much in that way."

Annie Lennox, 51, who is from Scotland herself, added that she is excited to see so much young talent coming from her native land.

Ashley Judd’s Depression

Glamour magazine is reporting that the star’s tension began from some of her difficult film roles.  Last February, the 38 year-old entered a Texas treatment centre, where she spent 47 days.  Judd revealed, "I needed help. I was in so much pain."

As a child, Judd was often adjusting to different towns and cultures, and was a student at 12 different schools by the age of 13.  The actress was raised by her mother after her parents separated at the age of 4.  Judd’s mother, Naomi, was a country music star along with her sister, Wynonna.

The treatment has helped Ashley Judd, and the star explains that her marriage to race-car driver Dario Franchitt, 33, is also much stronger.  She added, "I was unhappy, and now I’m happy.  Now, even when I’m having a rough day, it’s better than my best day before treatment."

According to Contactmusic, Friend says that the English actress seems distant, and, "she never comes home".

At the London premier of her film Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man’s Chest, the 21 year-old star revealed that she has no immediate plans to marry her boyfriend.  Jealousy may be to blame, as Friend is reportedly not happy with Knightley’s on-screen kisses with both of her co-stars, Johnny Depp and Orlando Bloom.

Knightley told reporters, "I’m going to take time off because of myself, mainly, not because of him. Let’s see how things go there."

Keith Richards Confirmed for Film

Following months of speculation, the 62 year-old musician has announced that he will play the father of Captain Jack Sparrow, the character played by actor Johnny Depp.  Depp said that he had based his character’s mannerisms from Richards, so it made sense to cast the actual man himself in the role of his father.

Filming for Pirates will begin next month in California.

Keith Richards is now very busy after a two-month absence.  While on holiday in Fiji, the guitarist fell from a tree.  The accident required brain surgery for Richards.
