Gwyneth Paltrow to Make a Music Move

The Shakespeare in Love star has been thinking recording a song since the birth of her son, Moses, last April.  Paltrow explains that music helps her to relax.  It also helps that the actress is married to Coldplay singer Chris Martin. 

Paltrow will work on her new passion with her husband and William Orbit, the man behind Madonna’s successful Ray of Light.

The producer told The Sun, "We’ve already done a track which will make a brilliant first single."

Gwyneth Paltrow has dabbled in music in the past.  In 2000 she recorded her own version of Bette Davis Eyes, and also recorded Cruising Together for the film Duets.

Zac Efron Making Move to Silver Screen

The 18 year-old star of High School Musical, Summerland, and Miracle Run, among others, will join a cast that includes John Travolta, Queen Latifah, Amanda Bynes and Billy Crystal.

The actor wasn’t hiding his enthusiasm when he spoke to Entertainment Tonight.  "I’m very excited," Zac told ET. "I can’t believe the cast, it’s absolutely amazing!"

The film adaptation of the successful Broadway musical should be in theatres in 2007.

Jessica Simpson to Release New CD

The CD, entitled A Public Affair, will be the first release from the star since her highly publicised divorce.  The album of 12 songs includes 9 songs that were co-written by the singer, who has also started a cinema career.

The CD’s first video was shot last weekend, and includes appearances by Eva Longoria, Christina Applegate, Ryan Seacrest, Christina Milian, Andy Dick and Maria Menounos.

Selma Blair Files for Divorce

The star of the films Cruel Intentions, Legally Blonde, and Hellboy, among others, and the little-known actor have been married for two years.

The divorce request was filed last Wednesday citing "irreconciliable differences".

A spokesperson for the actress told People magazine, "Selma and Ahmet have decided to divorce but love each other very much and will continue to be close friends."

Marcia Cross Says “I Do”

The ceremony took place in San Gabriel in the afternoon.  The 44 year-old beauty arrived on the arm of her father, Mark Cross.  She was preceeded by seven flower girls, from the ages of three to twelve.

220 guests, including Eva Longoria and Felicity Huffman, both co-stars on Desperate Housewives, attended the event.

A reception was held after the religious ceremony at the Ritz Carlton hotel in Pasadena, California.

Diana Krall Awaits First Child

The Canadian is expected to deliver the child in December.  Costello, 51, and Krall, 41, were married in December, 2003 at the home of singer Elton John.

For the singer who will be releasing her new disc in September, the child will be her first.  Costello, who is currently touring North America, has another child from a previous relationship.

Nicole Kidman Marries Keith Urban

The ceremony took place in Sydney with several celebrities in attendance, including actor Hugh Jackman, media man Rupert Murdoch, and actress Naomi Watts, among others.

The couple released a statement saying, "We just want to thank everone in Australia and around the world who have sent us their warm wishes."

Kidman arrived at the church in a limousine accompanied by her father, Anthony.  The event was swarmed by media helicopters.  Security guards were posted around the church, which was also naturally protected by a wall of rock.

Urban, 38, and Kidman, who celebrates her 39th birthday this week, have been dating since January, 2005.  They publicly announced their relationship last May.

The marriage is the first for Urban.  Kidman was previously married to actor Tom Cruise, and the two have two adopted children, Connor and Isabelle.

Reese Witherspoon Isn’t Laughing

Witherspoon, who won an Oscar for her performance in the film Walk the Line, has sued The Star, who published a story stating that she was pregnant.

According to the June 26 tabloid story, the star was pregnant, but attempting to hide the pregnancy from potential film producers.

The lawsuit claims that Witherspoon was not pregnant, and that the story has tarnished her honest reputation.

Kylie Minogue Announces Concert Dates

The pop star, who battled breast cancer last year, will be returning to finish her Showgirl tour.  Several dates at the end of the tour were cancelled when the singer was diagnosed with cancer.  Minogue will be back on stage in November.
