Beck To Launch New Disc

A release date has not yet been announced, but the album is a follow-up to last year’s Guero.

The singer confirmed the news on his official internet site.  Beck worked with Nigel Godrich on the recording, who also helped on the Mutations (1998) and Sea Change (2002) albums.

The singer will present his new songs during a mini ten-date tour in North America.

A Double Disc for Christina Aguilera

The new recording will be on store shelves on August 15, and is influenced by the music of the 1920s, 30s, and 40s.

The first single, which the star performed at the MTV Movie Awards, was Ain’t No Other Man.

Aguilera also includes the song Save Me From Myself, which is dedicated to her husband, Jordan Bratman.

Multi-million Dollar Suit Filed Against Ashanti

Linda Berk claims that the singer had entered a contract with her in 2003, before she became a star.  "The contract expired naturally and we didn’t renew it," said a spokesperson for Ashanti.

Ashanti Douglas earned a Grammy Awards for her first CD.  This is not the first time that the star has had legal problems.  Last year, she was forced to pay $630,000 for contractual problems with her first producer.

Billy Preston, the 5th Beatle, Dies

The keyboardist and singer, 59, had been in a coma since last November 21.  Preston died at Shea Scottsdale Hospital in Scottsdale, Arizona.

Preston was often called the fifth Beatle because he played the keyboard for the albums Let it Be, The White Album, and Abbey Road.

Preston also played on the Miss You disc from the Rolling Stones, and performed with Eric Clapton, Sly & The Family Stone, and Joe Cocker.  His career began in the 1960s when he toured with Little Richard in Europe.

The musician was also known to have many personal problems.  In 1992, he spent nine months in a drug rehabilitation centre.  Five years later, he spent three years behind bars for a parole violation.  In 1998, he plead guilty to accusations of insurance fraud.

Keanu Reeves Seeks Marriage and Children

The Matrix star has lived a vagabond existence, but now wants to settle down and have a family.  "I’m trying not to be alone so much," the actor, 41, who costars with Sandra Bullock in this summer’s The Lake House, tells Parade magazine in its June 11 issue. "And man, it’s a struggle. I want to get married. I want to have kids. That’s at the top of the mountain. I’ve got to climb the mountain first. I’ll do it. Just give me some time."

"I’ve had a vagabond life," he says. "There is a bit of the gypsy in me, and living that way seemed to make sense. I couldn’t settle down. I liked going to new places – renting apartments, staying in hotels.  Then I turned 40. That birthday is hard, perhaps because you know you’re grown-up. So now it’s a makeover for me. I have bought my first house. I wanted a home."

The star of Cheers, The People vs. Larry Flynt and A Prairie Home Compansion, among others, and his wife Laura Louie are now the parents of three children.

Little Makani Ravello was born in Maui.  She joins Denni, 13, and Zoe, 9.  The couple were married in 1998.

Casey Affleck Marries

The star of the films Mean Girls, Herbie: Fully Loaded and Freaky Friday, among others, is refusing to work with the project’s unexperienced directors, according to Fox News.

The film, which also stars Aaron Eckhart and Amanda Peet, was already to be in production.

Lohan is now going to concentrate of her next film, Georgia Rule.

You can next see Lohan in the film A Prairie Home Companion, directed by Robert Altman.  The film also stars Meryl Streep, Lily Tomlin and Kevin Kline.

Jamie Foxx to Play Bob Marley

The actor, who was also the star of the biographic film Ray, will now be playing the raggae star for director Rachid Bouchareb (Dust of Life).  The film is concentrated on the first years of the celebrities rise to fame.

Robert Nesta Marley was born in Jamaica on February 6, 1945.  During his career, he wrote 250 songs, including the successful No Woman No Cry, Is This Love, Redemption Song and I Shot the Sherriff, among others.  Marley died in Miami in 1981.  The singer was 36 and succombed to cancer.

First Photo of Shiloh Nouvel Sold for Good Cause

The pictures were taken in a private photo session, and will soon be publicised.  The entire payment made to the couple for the photos will be given to charity.

"While we celebrate the joy of the birth of our daughter, we recognize that two million babies born every year in the developing world die on the first day of their lives," the couple said in a joint statement. "These children can be saved, but only if governments around the world make it a priority."

Shiloh Nouvel Jolie-Pitt was born by caesarian section on May 27 in Namibia, Africa.  Her parents, Angelina Jolie, 30, and Brad Pitt, 42, are already the parents of two adopted children, Zahara, 16 months, and Maddox, 4.

Jennifer Garner Steps Down from Dallas

According to hollywood.com, the star of Alias, Daredevil and Elektra, among others, has told the film’s producers that she did not want to work with Jennifer Lopez, who will also be starring in the project.

Lopez was previously involved with Garner’s husband, actor Ben Affleck.  Garner and Affleck have been together since July, 2004, and are the parents of a six-month old daughter.  Their relationship began seven months after Affleck and Lopez split.

Other celebrities to star in the film Dallas include Luke Wilson (Bobby Ewing), John Travolta (JR), and Shirley MacClaine (Miss Ellie).
