Uma Thurman to Make Romantic Comedy

The project, which is still being written, will begin filming in the fall in New York.

The romantic comedy tells the story of a psyhologist (Thurman) who is engaged, who also learns that she is already married.  While tracking down her rogue husband, she finds herself unsure of which man she should choose.

Thurman can be seen next in the film My Super Ex-Girlfriend, which opens on July 21.

Michael Keaton to Star in Reaper

The actor, known for his films Batman and Jackie Brown, among others, will be starring in the film, which has a resemblance to the film Blade Runner.

Reaper is the story of Virgil, a private detective who finds himself recruited by the beautiful but mysterious Delia.  He soon finds himself in a world where the lines between right and wrong, and life and death, are blurred.

Filming is set to begin in the fall.  The script was written by a video game developer.

The star, who is preparing her musical debut, was filming a scene for her show in Malibu, California. 

During a photoshoot, Hilton’s top popped off, revealing her breasts to all in the gathered crowd.

Mariah Carey Insures Her Legs

The star made the decision after signing a contract with Gillette for their Legs of a Goddess campaign.  The singer doesn’t want to take any risks with her prized legs, particularly as she will be touring.

According to the Daily Mirror, a source said, "The sum reflects her popularity. She’s about to start a US tour and she’ll have to be careful."

Sting to Launch New Disc in October

The former singer from The Police announced the news on his official website.  Sting said that the disc, which is yet untitled, is a, "strange record, a delightful record and I think people will be intrigued by it."

He added, "The album is voice and lute, there are a few four part harmonies that I sing and it’s all music from the 16th century."

Sting begins a European tour on June 4, visiting such sites as Russia, Israel, Scandinavia, Monaco and Lithuania.

Gwen Stefani Gives Birth

The star and her husband, singer Gavin Rossdale, welcomed their first child at a Los Angeles hospital.  Kingston James McGregor Rossdale and his mother are both doing well.

The No Doubt singer, 36, and Rossdale, 38, were married in 2002.

Ken Loach Gets Cannes Top Prize

The votes were unanimous of the jury, led by director Wong Kar Wai, for the film The Wind That Shakes The Barley for the most important award of the festival.

The film, set in 1920, tells the story of two brothers in Northern Ireland who raise an army to fight England.

Other films were recognized during the competition, including Babel, from Mexican director Alejandro Gonzalez Inarritu, and Volver, which was submitted by Pedro Almodovar.

Elton John Wants Justin Timberlake

This was revealed by Elton John’s spouse, David Furnish.

According to him, Timberlake would be the right person to play Elton John in the biographical film Rocketman.

This information was announced by Furnish at a function in Cannes, during the Film Festival.

According to him, Elton John’s eventful life provides a great source of inspiration for a biography.

Paul Newman Working with Robert Redford

The 81 year old star revealed Wednesday that he wanted to produce one last time. "Redford and I are working on something, but it’s not by any means a slam dunk. … We’re working on a script very hard."

The actor was asked which of his movies he would recommend to a youngster that does not know his work.  He replied, "The Silver Chalice," his 1954 debut. "Then he’d know what bad really was."

Simple Minds Will Be at the World Cup

Singer Jim Kerr is doing a concert in Berlin on June 7.

The group’s publicist is not at all surprised to see the group participating in the festivities. "Simple Minds are football mad, so this will be the best gig in the world for them.  It comes at a great time in the band’s career – they will also be performing a series of outdoor music festivals all over Europe this summer."
