Chris Martin Plans Cross-over to Classical

In an interview with the New York Post, the singer said, "When I’m 40, too old to be a rock star, I plan to go back to college to study classical music."

Martin, 29, who was accompagnied by his wife, actress Gwyneth Paltrow, was in the United States to perform with the New York Philharmonique.  The songs were a celebration of the music from Steven Spielberg’s films.

Recently, Martin and Paltrow became the parents of a little boy, Moses.  They are already the parents of a 23 month-old daughter, Apple.

Keith Richards Leaves the Hospital

Richards, 62, was admitted to an Aukland hospital over the weekend after falling from a tree while on vacation in Fiji.  Saturday her was transported to the hospital for scans.

The circumstances surrounding the accident haven’t been revealed, however we know that Richards and his wife were on holiday with another Rolling Stones guitarist, Ron Wood.

The Rolling Stones are enjoying several weeks off before beginning their A Bigger Bang tour on May 27 in Barcelona.

Britney Spears to Deliver in August

According to television’s Access Hollywood, the pop music star will have her second child in less than a year after delivering her son, Sean Preston.  The TV show reported that they got the information from a source close the the singer’s family.  According to the source, Spears is five months along in her pregnancy.

Recenty, Spears was seen at a Las Vegas hotel swimming pool wearing a red bikini that did little to hide her growing belly.  Spears and her husband, Kevin Federline, were married in September, 2004.

Black Eyed Peas Giving Free Concert

On May 28, the band will perform without charge for 60,000 people in Johannesburg Stadium in South Africa.  It will be the first event for their charity group, Peapod Foundation.  The band’s lead singer, Fergie, explained, "We fly all over the world doing concerts everywhere, and you see a big golf course and it’s all beautiful and in the next block you see cardboard houses, and it’s just inhumane if you don’t do something about that or feel obligated to help in some way.  Some of these kids have never even seen a show in their life, and they’re gonna get to go see a concert … so it’s a beautiful thing."

The foundation is hoping to raise money for area schools.  Nelson Mandela and Oprah Winfrey plan to attend the event.

Nelly Furtado Teams with Justin Timberlake

The two stars will each release the song on their upcoming albums, which are both being produced by Timbaland.

Canada’s Furtado told MTV, "I had met Justin briefly before, but I hadn’t really hung out with him."

The song is called Crowd Control.  "It’s just a cute, clubby, upbeat, fun track. It’s kind of sexy", said Furtado.

Catherine Keener and Vince Vaughn to Star in Film

The film tells the true story of Christopher McCandless, who, after graduating from college in 1992, decided to leave his life behind and take a trip to Alaska.  He spent four months camping in the wild.

Keener (Capote, The 40 Year-Old Virgin, Being John Malkovich) will play a woman who picks up the hitchhiking Vaughn (Dodgeball: A True Underdog Story, Wedding Crashers) when his car dies on the road.

Abba Member Has Tax Troubles

According to the Swedish government, the amount is the result of not including royalties on tax returns from 1999 until 2003.  Attorneys for Ulvaeus say that the government is not aware of the star’s contracts and tax arrangements.

Ulvaeus and his friend, Benny Andersson, wrote nearly all of the successful Abba songs, which have now been turned into the musicals Chess and Mamma Mia.  During their career, the quartet Abba sold more than 370 million records.

Keith Richards Falls From Tree

The news was confirmed by a spokesperson for the star.  According to early information, the 62 year-old man fell from a tree and was transported to a New Zealand hospital.

The guitarist is accompagnied by his wife, Patti.  No word has been released on his specific injuries.

Justin Timberlake Doesn’t Take Every Role

The star doesn’t want to take roles in adolescent comedies because he hopes to be taken seriously as an actor.  The 25 year-old first starred in the film Edison, and then in the movie Alpha Dog.  Since then, Timberlake has been bombarded with offers.  He says, "I’d rather do something that challenges me. I have been sent an enormous amount of scripts, some of them were teen movies. Some of them were actually funny."

He added, "But I didn’t want people to think I would capitalise on my music. And it’s not what I wanted to be known for."

Adrien Brody and Lindsay Lohan in Speechless

Filming for the project, which will be directed by Brian Dannelly (Saved), will begin at the end of the year.

The story is a type of modern day Cyrano de Bergerac, in which an introverted man (Brody) attends the wedding of a childhood friend.

Adrien Brody was recently in the film King Kong, and Lindsay Lohan starred in the film Herbie: Fully Loaded.
