Shakira and her disc, Oral Fixation Vol 1, took the title of Best Latin Pop Album of the Year. She won in several other categories, including earning an award for Best Duo with singer Sanz and their song The Torture.

Colombia Studios has signed Hurt (A History of Violence, The Village, Dark City) to star opposite Dennis Quaid and Matthew Fox in the project.

Responding to an NBC journalist’s questions, the star said that the public’s interest in her relationship with Brad Pitt makes her "giggle".
The star also commented that the media frenzy around her is funny. She said, "If (Brad) saw this, he would probably understand why I was laughing. Because I just don’t know how to address that kind of thing. I don’t talk about our – my relationship in public."
