Kylie Minogue in Complete Remission

Minogue’s sister, Danni, revealed the good news on her official website.  She writes, "My best news to start the new year is that my sister has had her ‘full remission’."

She added, "Last year was a difficult year for many people – I’m just happy we have a close family and could all support each other."

In May, 2005, Kylie Minogue, 37, was forced to cancel her concert tour when she was diagnosed with cancer.  She then underwent chemotherapy and surgery.  She is now in remission, but will continue with some treatments to prevent the return of the disease.  Minogue hopes to return to her music by the end of the year.

Madonna to Open the Grammy Awards

Madonna, a five-time Grammy winner, will perform with the rock group, which will be presented in 3-D animation on a screen behind her.  It is unknown what song they will perform.

There are many collaborations planned for the evening, including U2 and Mary J. Blige, Faith Hill and Keith Urban, Christina Aguilera and Herbie Hancock, Jamie Foxx and Kanye West, Mariah Carey and Kezekiah Walker & Love Fellowship Choir.

Bruce Springsteen, Coldplay, Sugarland, Steven Tyler, Joe Perry (Aerosmith), will.i.am (Black Eyed Peas), Joss Stone, John Legend, Maroon 5, Robert Randolph and Devin Lima will all perform.  There is also a tribute being planned to honour Sly & the Family Stone.

As for the awards, Mariah Carey, John Legend and Kanye West are dominating the nominations, each receiving 8 in various categories.  The Grammy Awards will be presented on February 8.

Scotland Yard Interrogates Kate Moss

The model, who has not been arrested, was questioned about a video tape that shows Moss and others using cocaine.

Moss, 32, has returned to England for the first time since photographs of her cocaine use were published last September.  The star, who lost many of her lucrative contracts, then entered a drug detoxification programme.

Boy George in Court

Boy George, whose real name is George O’Dowd, was being questioned for drug charges from his arrest last October.  The singer-turned-D.J. was arrested at his New York apartment for possessing 3.5 grams of cocaine.

After a brief discussion, the judge postponed the trial until March 8.  According to the singer and his attorney, the drugs found in his apartment did not belong to him.

Coachella Festival Announces Some Participants

The festival, which has taken place each year in the California desert since 1999, will bring more than 80 artists to one stage in April.

Depeche Mode will have the priviledge of being the last performance.  The group has been enjoying the success of their CD Playing the Angel, which was released last October.

Smashing Pumpkins to Play Lollapallooza

According to Billboard, Lollapallooza will be presented at Chicago’s Hutchinson Field on August 4-6.  The complete list of artists who will participate in this year’s event is not yet known, but the Smashing Pumpkins have announced their return.  Pumpkins lead singer Billy Corgan was born in Chicago.  The Smashing Pumpkins split in 2000.

Julia Roberts Causes a Frenzy

The star, who has decided to return to acting after taking two years off to be with her twin children, will be making her Broadway debut.  A frenzy took place on the first day of ticket sales, and the show is nearly sold out.  

The show, entitled Three Days of Rain, will begin next month.  Ticket sales have already earned $7 million in revenue, and will run from March 28 through June 18.

Pregnancy Rumours for Elizabeth Hurley

According to London’s The Times, the Austin Powers star was recently seen leaving a prenatal clinic on prestigious Harley Street.  The star’s agent is not commenting on whether Hurley is with child or not.

Elizabeth Hurley is already the mother of a three-year old from a previous relationship.  She has been dating Indian business man Arun Nayar for the past three years.

Nick Lachey In The Arms of Another

According to In Touch magazine, the former 98 Degrees singer is dating Lizzie Arnold, a 28 year-old brunette.  A friend said, "They’ve been together for about a month."

Lachey and Arnold have been seen together in many different Los Angeles spots. 

As for Lachey’s ex, Jessica Simpson, yesterday it was revealed that she is dating Maroon 5 singer, Adam Levine.

Filming of Casino Royale To Begin Despite All

Actor Daniel Craig (James Bond) and other cast members will be in the Czech capital to start working, although an actress to play the next Bond Girl has not yet been found.

According to the Hollywood Reporter, director Martin Campbell is not planning to film any love scenes between Agent 007 and his Bond Girl before next month.  Writer Paul Haggis explained, "They’re talking to three to four girls right now."

Campbell also spoke about the upcoming film, which he says will be, "definitely darker, more character, less gadgets".

Casino Royale is scheduled to open in theatres on November 17.
