The Most Eligible Bachelor Is…

The readers of the magazine Us Weekly voted the 29 year-old actor to the top of the list.

The star, who is currently working on a film version of the popular series Miami Vice, topped actor Jesse Metcalfe, who came in second.  Metcalfe has gained instant popularity from his role on Desperate Housewives.

British actor Orlando Bloom took the third position on the list.  He can be seen next in the romantic comedy Elizabethtown, due out in October.

The fourth place spot was filled by George Clooney.  The 44 year-old will be seen in the movie Syriana, which opens in September.

And finally, in the fifth spot was actor Jamie Foxx, who is also currently working on the film Miami Vice with Colin Farrell.

Angelina Jolie’s Daughter Hospitalised

Little Zahara Marley Jolie, who has only just arrived in America with her mother, has been hospitalised and diagnosed with salmonella and dehydration.  She was admitted to New York’s Presbyterian hosptial, where Jolie has spent both night and day with her new daughter.

Zahara was adopted by the 30 year-old star from Ethiopia.  Her birth parents both died as a result of AIDs.

Britney Spears to Deliver in September

The 14 year-old star of the American television show Zoey 101, recently wrote about her famous sister on her official website.

Jamie-Lynn didn’t reveal the sex of the baby, although there are several rumours, ranging from ‘it’s a girl’ to ‘it’s twins’.

Jamie-Lynn wrote, "I can’t wait. I have been shopping so much for the baby and it is not even here yet!!."

Paul McCartney Scores A Record

The song has become the fastest selling download in the history of the internet.  This new version debued at the top of the iTunes chart.

The Guinness Book of World Records has acknowledged the recording for reaching the number one spot in only 45 minutes after being released.

Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band was recorded by the Beatles in 1967.  It was never available as a single.  All profits from the sale of the new version will go to charity.

Former U2 Stylist Ordered to Pay

U2 was suing the ex-employee for attempting to sell stolen property at auction.  In the judgement, Cashman was ordered to return all the items within 7 days, and will now be responsible for paying the legal fees incurred by the group.

Cashman, also wrote and profited from an unauthorised biography of the band.

Joss Stone’s Bum Double

In the campaign, the 18 year-old star is dancing with a group of friends.  The Gap decided to edit a few images, replacing Stone’s behind.

According to The Sun online Stone said: "All those bum shots? They’re not mine. They’re other girls. That’s not my bum, I promise."

The star is finding humour in the situation.  She added: "Apparently, I need a J-Lo bum or something. Bring in the implants, girls."

The new ads will be released in the fall.  Stone joins many other famous stars who have worked with The Gap, including Madonna, Missy Elliot, Lenny Kravitz and Sarah Jessica Parker.

Tom Hanks To Play Politician

The actor will coproduce the film for Universal and work will begin as soon as filming for The Da Vinci Code has wrapped.  No director has been hired as of yet.

In the movie, Hanks plays a congressman nicknamed ‘Good Time Charlie’.  The story begins in the 80s, when the fun-loving politician almost ruins his career when he’s caught with two showgirls in Las Vegas.  However, he survives the scandal and winds up overseeing the most successful operation that the CIA has ever had.

Michael Jackson Considers Living Abroad

The German paper Berliner Morgenpost confirmed that the Jackson family is helping in the search for a building site near Berlin.

Joe Jackson, Michael’s father, said: "Michael is a huge fan of Germany and is totally in love with the city."

"It meant a lot to us that German fans even turned up during the court case to offer their support. That is something we will not forget."

According to the family representative, Shawn Andrews, Michael is anxious to make a new start after being found innocent in his trial.

Andrews added: "Michael wants to live in Europe, but has not yet settled on whether he prefers somewhere in Switzerland or in Berlin."

First Images of Madonna’s DVD

The DVD is entitled I’m Going to Tell You a Secret.  In the most recent issue of Vogue magazine, the star gave fans some insight on her next project.

The singer explained, "If I’m going to take people through a journey of my life, they are going to see all my journeys."  She added that some images from her trip to Israel will be included,  "I hope they will also be moved by it. The feeling in Israel is like no other place. I felt very comfortable there."

Madonna also told the magazine that she found some of the parts of the DVD difficult to watch.  "I was a very selfish person," she said. "You go through periods where the world does revolve around you, but you can’t live your whole life that way. On the other hand, I kind of admire my spunk and directness!" .

Star Trek’s Scotty Dies

Doohan’s agent released a statement that revealed the actor was suffering from pneumonia and Alzheimer’s disease.  His wife of 28 years, Wende, was at his side until the last moments of his life.

Doohan was best known for his role on Star Trek from 1966 until 1969.  He starred in the legendary series along with William Shatner and Leonard Nimoy.

The three actors also had roles in the big-screen adaptations of the series.  In total, Doohan made seven films as the character "Scotty".

He received a star on Hollywood’s Walk of Fame in October, 2004.
