Samsung Galaxy Tab S8, Tab S8+ and Tab S8 Ultra renders leak online

Samsung’s Galaxy Tab S8 series has been leaked online by the mighty Evan Blass (@evleaks).

These leaks show the difference between all three models of the device. It seems the Tab S8 Ultra has the slimmest bezels and even has a notch for its front-facing camera. Reportedly, the Ultra variant will have limited production.

If the Tab S8 has similar sizing to its predecessors, the Tab S8 will sport an 11-inch display, and the Tab S8+ will feature a 12.4-inch screen. Rumour has it the Tab S8 Ultra will sport a massive 14-inch display, which will likely be too large for many.

It’s not exactly clear when Samsung will launch these new tablets, but the devices may launch alongside the S22 series in January or February.

Leaked images suggest Google’s Pixel Watch will feature minimalist design.

A new slate of leaked images are driving up the hype for what many expect to be Google’s next foray into smartwatches

Based on the leaked images (seen below), the smartwatch will run Google’s Wear OS 3 and sport a relatively slim and circular watch face. It’s also expected that the company will call the device the Pixel Watch as current rumours indicate.

The leaked images also show off a single crown on the side of the watch and what appears to be a few varieties of a proprietary watch band.

The photos also reveal few watch faces and apps. Overall, the device seems to match Google’s distinct Android 12 aesthetic pretty well.

While these photos courtesy of Front Page Tech’s Jon Prosser, appear to be from some sort of video or slideshow, they’re still just leaks. with this in mind, it’s important to point out that Google still hasn’t officially revealed the Pixel Watch. It’s also with noting that Prosser has a spotty history when it comes to leak accuracy.

December’s Pixel feature drop offers ‘Now Playing’ enhancements and more

Google’s latest Pixel feature drop brings more functionality to the tech giant’s smartphone.

For instance, Google has added new wallpapers created by Vancouver, B.C. artist Dana Kearly to celebrate International Day of Persons with Disabilities.

My favourite part of the update is what the tech giant has done with ‘Now Playing.’ Now Playing, an on-device feature that automatically recognizes songs playing in your environment, now lets you save the current song playing as your favourite. There’s also a Favourites category where you can find the tunes you liked the most. Further, Now Playing now lets you manually search for a song playing nearby. You can also now turn on the new search button and Google will connect to the internet to find the song.

If you’re an owner of the Pixel Buds A-Series, you can open the Pixel Buds app and use a slider to manually adjust the bass from -1 to +4, giving you far more control. The Recorder app can also now transcribe in Japanese, French and German on Pixel 3 phones and newer.

On your Pixel 4a with 5G or newer, you can now use ‘Quick Tap’ to access Snapchat, and you’ll soon be able to add a new Pixel exclusive lens to the platform.

Ultra-wideband is now available on the Pixel 6 Pro, which improves ‘Nearby Share,’ allowing you to quickly share files, videos, map locations and more. Additionally, the Pixel 6 Pro and Pixel 6 can work with digital car keys on select 2020-2022 BMW models.

Another new feature is ‘Conversation mode,’ an early-stage accessibility feature in the Sound Amplifier app. The feature uses on-device machine learning and connects to their conversation partner to better hear conversations in loud environments and tune out competing noise.

Lastly, Google has added a new ‘Car crash detection’ mode, but this feature isn’t available in Canada.

Several M1 Macs discounted at Apple’s refurbished store

Apple has added a new slate of M1-equipped Macs and MacBooks to its refurbished store in Canada. This is an excellent way to get a bit of a discount on an Apple product.

To start, the M1 Mac mini is available for as low as $759 for a base model. However, if you need something with more power, the more expensive models feature more significant discounts.

The base-model MacBook Air starts at $1,099, $200 less than a comparable model that’s brand new. The 13-inch M1 MacBook Pro starts at $1,439, a $260 discount. As with the Mac mini, the more expensive MacBook models offer a slightly more robust discount.

The M1 MacBook Air is a decent value at its full price, so any sort of discount adds to that value proposition. The 13-inc MacBook Pro is a bit of a harder sell right now since it doesn’t offer considerably more performance than a MacBook Air with similar hardware. However, if you’ve been waiting for a discount, these are pretty good offers.

You can check out all of the deals at Apple’s Refurbished Store.

Samsung Galaxy Buds Pro available for an all-time low of $187 at Costco

Costco Canada currently has the Samsung Galaxy Buds Pro listed for an all-time low price.

Shared by RedFlagDeals user ‘velo2k,’ the truly wireless earbuds are currently available for $187.99, marking a $77 discount from its regular $264.99 price tag.

Further, if you purchase the buds in-store, you can get an additional $10 off, essentially bringing the price down to $177.99.

Each Galaxy Bud Pro features an 11mm woofer and a 6.5mm tweeter that delivers a crisp sound with powerful bass and treble. The wireless earbuds also feature top-of-the-line active noise cancellation to cut out the background noise, allowing you to focus on the music.

On-ear controls let you play music, skip tracks, answer phone calls, and more without having to reach for your phone. Further, the Samsung Galaxy Buds Pro is IPX7 water-resistant, so you won’t have to worry about them becoming slightly wet.

The buds provide up to 5 hours of music or 4.5 hours of call time on a single charge when ANC is enabled. When paired with the charging case, the buds can provide up to 13 hours of additional listening time. If you’re running low on time, a quick five-minute charge can fuel up the buds to last almost an hour.

Costco has the buds available in Black, Silver and Purple colourways.

When reviewed at MobileSyrup, the Samsung Galaxy Buds Pro received a decent 7.5/10 rating. Read the review to learn more about the earbuds.
