All eight of the main Harry Potter films are streaming on Crave.
This is a pretty notable get for the Bell-owned service, as the massively popular franchise wasn’t previously available on any streaming service in its entirety. Instead, the final four films were streaming, for a time, on Netflix, with the first four unavailable due to “territorial licensing.”
Crave has gotten all eight movies to coincide with the 20th anniversary of The Philosopher’s Stone, which opened in North American theatres on November 16th, 2001.
For reference, these are the eight movies now on Crave:
It’s worth noting that the two Fantastic Beasts movies, which are prequels Harry Potter prequels, aren’t currently on any streaming service outside of PVOD platforms like iTunes and Google Play. The third Fantastic Beasts film, The Secrets of Dumbledore, will hit North American theatres on April 15th, 2022.
That said, this is the first of three major Harry Potter content releases for Crave. On November 28th at 8pm ET, the streaming service will also debut Harry Potter: Hogwarts Tournament of Houses. Hosted by Oscar winner Helen Mirren (The Queen), the four-part competition series will pit fans against one another in Potter trivia battles. Special guests, including Tom Felton (Draco Malfoy himself) and late-night comedian Jay Leno, will also appear.
Finally, Harry Potter 20th Anniversary: Return to Hogwartswill premiere on January 1st, 2022. The reunion special sees Daniel Radcliffe (Harry), Rupert Grint (Ron) and Emma Watson (Hermione) join Christopher Columbus (director of The Philosopher’s Stone and The Chamber of Secrets) and a variety of other guests from the films to reflect on 20 years of Harry Potter on the big screen.
However, series creator J.K. Rowling has been noticeably absent from all of these 20th-anniversary celebrations, including the Return to Hogwarts special. It appears that Warner Bros. is trying to distance itself publicly from the writer, who’s come under fire in recent years for repeated transphobic comments.
Many of the Harry Potter films’ stars, including Radcliffe, Watson, Grint and Fantastic Beasts‘ Eddie Redmayne, issued separate statements to voice their disagreement with Rowling. During this time, there’s been a marked increase in hate crimes against trans people in both the U.K. and U.S., which LGBTQ+ activists have warned comes, in part, from harmful rhetoric from public figures like Rowling.

Rogers joined Bell and Telus in offering a $5/mo discount on its plans for Black Friday.
With Rogers, the discount applies to the carrier’s ‘Infinite’ plans and applies when activating an Infinite plan with a new device or as a bring-your-own-phone offer. Rogers notes the $5 discount will appear on your third bill following activation and will remain on the account for 24 months.
Further, Rogers says “ineligible plan changes” or phone upgrades during that time will cancel the discount.
Although not a huge discount, $5 off per month will save you $120 over two years. It also brings Rogers’ $80/mo base Infinite plan down to a slightly more reasonable $75/mo plan with 20GB of data.
You can learn more about the deal here, or check out the rest of Rogers’ Black Friday offers here.
The National Post is reporting Bell and Telus have asked the federal government to fund the possible removal of Huawei equipment from their networks.
It’s speculated that Canada will ban the Chinese telecom giant from the country’s 5G networks. Although an announcement has yet to be made, Canada is expected to follow the lead of allies in the Five Eyes intelligence network. The U.S., U.K., Australia, and New Zealand have restricted or completely ousted the equipment in question, raising concerns Huawei’s links to Beijing create a security risk.
The Liberal party has been discussing a ban in Canada for the past three years over similar security concerns and an announcement is expected in the coming weeks.
Both Bell and Telus have installed the equipment in question over networks from previous generations. It could cost Telus approximately $1 billion to replace the equipment, but a final number is unclear. Figures on Bell also aren’t available.
MobileSyrup has asked Telus, Bell, and the office of Innovation, Science, and Economic Development for comment.

Telus’ flanker brand Koodo also highlighted some new Black Friday offers, primarily with its ‘Certified Pre-owned Phones’ program.
For Black Friday, Koodo customers can nab various pre-owned devices for just $1/mo on Tab Mid or Tab Plus plans. Looking at Koodo’s website, that includes the iPhone 12, iPhone XR, iPhone XS and the Samsung Galaxy S10 Plus (which, oddly, features a picture of the iPhone XS on Koodo’s website).
You can check out all of Koodo’s Certified Pre-owned Phones here.
Beyond that, there’s not a whole lot that’s new compared to the offers Koodo already released (you can check those out here). Additionally, check out MobileSyrup’s carrier Black Friday deal round-up here for some of the best offers from each carrier.

Finally, Telus’ new Black Friday deals are available here.
Vancouver-based national carrier Telus highlighted some of the latest Black Friday offers available both in-store and online.
These offers build on some already solid deals from the carrier, which you can check out in our deal round-up here.
First up, Telus joined Bell in adding a $5/mo discount to its unlimited plans. The discount lasts 24 months (totalling $120 over two years) and can apply to new phone or bring-your-own-device activations performed online. Customers should see the credit appear on their first bill and then on each subsequent bill until the end of the 24 month period.
Telus also highlighted an in-store offer that adds free Canada-U.S. talk, text and roaming onto all of the carrier’s unlimited plans. According to information provided by the carrier, customers can save $20/mo with the offer ($480 over two years). Anyone who travels to the U.S. often will likely benefit from the Canada-U.S. package.
Beyond that, Telus highlighted its Bring-It-Back program, which lets customers get a phone for a reduced monthly cost if they agree to return it or pay the difference at the end of the two-year term. Specifically, Telus pointed out its Samsung Galaxy S20 FE, available for as low as $6/mo financing with Telus Easy Payment and Bring-It-Back.
Similarly, there’s the iPhone 13, which Telus says customers can get for $0/mo financing with Easy Payment, Bring-It-Back and trading in a device.
Finally, the carrier highlighted its ‘Buy One, Give One’ offer that will see Telus donate a refurbished phone and free mobile plan to a Canadian in need for each new phone activation done over Black Friday weekend (up to a maximum of 6,000 phones). You can learn more about that here.

Want to make your iPhone 13 see-through? That obviously isn’t possible, but these cool new wallpapers from ‘The Basic Apple Guy’ give it the illusion that your phone’s internals are bare and visible.
The schematic wallpapers give a look into the “incredibly dense network of components that bring the iPhone to life,” with parts, including the new A15 Bionic processor, storage, RAM and other components carefully placed where they actually reside in your phone’s chassis.
Inspired by iFixit’s initial teardown of the iPhone 13 Pro and Pro Max, the schematics were designed in Sketch in ‘Black,’ ‘Xray,’ ‘Sunset,’ ‘Slate,’ ‘Neon Blue,’ ‘M1,’ ‘Card,’ and ‘Blueprint’ design variants.
The wallpapers were created for the iPhone 13 Pro and iPhone 13 Pro Max, but they work with the iPhone 13 and iPhone 13 mini. That said, the wallpapers can also be used on older iPhones or even Android devices; just don’t expect the wallpaper design to match with the device’s internals.
Visit The Basic Apple Guy’s website and download the wallpapers. Navigate to your Photo gallery, tap the share button on the bottom left, and ‘Use as Wallpaper.’ Turn perspective zoom off and size the wallpaper according to your display, and you finally have an iPhone with visible internals.
