Mark Carney seems concerned about Connor McDavid’s contract

Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney is known as a proud hockey fan.
It’s not unusual for him to evoke hockey references during his speeches, as evidenced by his most recent outing at a caucus in Edmonton.
Talking about local crises, the PM took the liberty of winking at Edmonton Oilers captain Connor McDavid, who will reach the final year of his contract in 2025-2026.
“We’re in a crisis, the global trading system has been upended, supply chains have been destroyed, McDavid is unsigned.” – Mark Carney at his Edmonton caucus
McDavid, 28, recently told Edmonton reporters that all options are on the table regarding his future with the team, including the possibility of leaving.
