The Little Italy – Jean-Talon Market Commercial Development Corporation (SDC) is thrilled to announce the launch of its 2026 summer program, which is completely free and open to everyone. Renowned for its vibrancy and unique culinary identity, Little Italy once again establishes itself as a must-visit destination for the summer season in Montreal. Once again this year, the neighborhood will offer a multitude of festive, friendly, and accessible activities, designed to bring the community together and attract visitors.
Among the highlights of the program, a new addition stands out: Antipasti Thursdays. These will transform evenings into true culinary celebrations, where flavors, music, and a warm atmosphere come together. Meanwhile, Samedis pour emporter will make a notable return, inviting the public to discover and savor a diverse selection of gourmet offerings while enjoying the neighborhood’s lively atmosphere.
Throughout the summer, the streets of Little Italy will come alive with community-building events featuring musical performances, street entertainment, and unique culinary experiences. This rich and diverse program aims to create memorable moments, fostering connections and the joy of coming together.

Kickoff
On June 4, 2026, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m., the SDC de la Petite Italie – Marché Jean-Talon will kick off its summer season with a festive barbecue at Dante Park. This community-building event will invite people to gather in a friendly atmosphere to celebrate the arrival of summer with delicious food and refreshments.
The evening will be hosted by a DJ from Super Plage, who will provide a dynamic, summery musical vibe. Games and door prizes will also be part of the event, creating a fun and inclusive atmosphere for all ages. True to the neighborhood’s warm spirit, this gathering is meant to be a time for sharing and discovery. It will also be a great opportunity for participants to learn about the upcoming summer programming and connect with community members in a welcoming and festive setting. Sign up for the BBQ here.

Big news: Antipasti Thursdays
A major new feature of the summer season, Antipasti Thursdays offer a friendly post-work break in the charming setting of Little Italy Park. From 5 p.m. to 9 p.m., the public is invited to enjoy a relaxed atmosphere where music, flavors, and local discoveries come together. Refreshing drinks, gourmet bites, and performances by local artists will set the tone for these festive evenings.
Each event will feature a unique atmosphere:
- July 9: Mort Rose x Trop Belle
- July 23: Hélène Barbier x DJ Yuki
- August 13: Forró de Lá x DJ Gorrilhas
- August 27: Sonido Pesao x Canicule Tropicale (DJ set)
Special promotions at neighborhood shops will enhance the experience.

Takeout Saturdays
Takeout Saturdays are back this summer with a revamped format that transforms the picnic into a true urban experience. These weekly events, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., invite the public to gather in various neighborhood parks to enjoy a gourmet moment outdoors. Whether with family or friends, everyone can put together their own meal from local vendors and settle in to savor the moment. Artistic performances, a variety of activities, and special offers will enrich the experience.

The classics are back
The neighborhood’s must-see events will also be back throughout the summer season. Among these crowd-favorite events are the Dante Drive-In, held every Wednesday in July and August 2026, as well as Cinema Under the Stars on July 13 and 20.
Ital AutoFest will take place on July 5, followed by Italfest MTL from August 7 to 9, not to mention the traditional Ferragosto on Dante on August 23. At the same time, a host of activities and workshops will enliven the Jean-Talon Market, offering a rich and varied program.
