Montreal Comic-Con, which took place from July 3 to 5, 2026, reached another major milestone this year by setting a new attendance record.
Quebec’s premier pop culture event attracted more than 67,000 visitors, reaffirming its status as a must-attend event for fans of comics, movies, TV shows, and cosplay.
A full lineup of events throughout the weekend
Throughout the three days, visitors enjoyed autograph sessions, photo ops with guests, on-stage panels, specialized workshops, and exclusive meet-and-greets with creators and industry professionals.
Activities were spread across several floors, allowing for smooth movement between the various themed areas, ranging from conferences to exhibition spaces.
Star Guests and Big Names in Pop Culture
The 2026 edition welcomed several major figures from film and television, including Giancarlo Esposito, Tom Welling, Tyler Posey, Diana Lee Inosanto, as well as Tyler Hoechlin and Elizabeth Tulloch.
Fans also had the chance to meet Ron Perlman, Robert Englund, Lea Thompson, and Christopher Lloyd, among other big names from the silver screen.
Cosplay, gaming, and immersive experiences
Cosplay took center stage with costumes inspired by everything from anime to major Hollywood franchises. The aisles were filled with original creations, handcrafted armor, and fun trends like themed accessories and humorous props.
Visitors could also explore a bustling arcade area, a board game zone, and a video game area, offering interactive experiences for fans of gaming and geek culture.
One of the event’s unexpected highlights was an immersive medieval village, where participants could learn the basics of sword fighting, watch demonstrations, and try their hand at traditional techniques in a historic setting.
Popular Booths and Booming Trends
The exhibition area drew huge crowds thanks to a wide variety of booths showcasing pop culture and merchandise.
Among the most popular were:
- Sokette, Quebec-made bamboo socks
- Stylin Boxes, a big hit with collectors
- Sumo Dino, always surrounded by visitors trying their luck at catching plush toys
- Plastic ducks depicting popular characters
There was also a very popular official store offering sports-related merchandise, including FIFA jerseys via FIFA, which caught the attention of soccer fans and those seeking exclusive products.
This year’s trends also included figurines, collectibles, clothing inspired by cult franchises, and humorous items that were widely seen in the aisles.

Building on this success, Montreal Comic-Con is already inviting its fans to the next edition, scheduled for July 2–4, 2027. Organizers have already announced nearly 60 comic book creators and major new cosplay activities, including the CosplayEh! finals and several on-stage events.
One thing is certain: the 2026 edition will have left a lasting impression, both for its record attendance and the richness of its content.
