Ridley Scott To Direct Russell Crowe

Scott and Crowe worked together on the successful films A Good Year and Gladiator.

In the new project, which begins filming next year, Crowe will play the sheriff of Nottingham, in a revisionalist tale of the story of Robin Hood.

Ridley Scott will be working this fall on the film Body of Lies, which will star Leonardo DiCaprio.

Two New Projects for Lambert Wilson

Wilson (The Matrix Reloaded, The Matrix Revolutions, Palais royal!) will star opposite Vin Diesel in the film Babylon A.D.  The thriller follows the story of a former mercenary (Diesel) who agrees to escort a woman from Russia to China.  The movie is expected to be released on February 29, 2008.

In another project, Wilson will share the screen with Demi Moore and Michael Caine in Flawless.  The drama is set during the 1960s in London.  A retiree (Caine) convinces a business owner (Moore) to get her hands on a diamond.

No date has been announced for the beginning of filming.

Paul McCartney To Release New Disc

The disc of thirteen songs will be the artist’s first release on his new label, Starbucks.  Also for the first time, the songs from the former Beatle will be available for downloading.
Billboard magazine has learned that the first single from the CD will be Dance Tonight.  The song’s video features actress Natalie Portman.
The legendary singer said of his next release, "In places it’s a very personal record and a lot of it is retrospective, drawing from memory, like memories from being a kid, from Liverpool and from summers gone."
McCartney will also embark on a tour to support his new disc, although dates have not yet been announced.

Sugababes Singer Arrested

Surrey police have confirmed that Berrabah, 23, was arrested after a brawl in a nightclub.

According to the Daily Mirror, the singer attacked an 18 year-old girl.  Berrabah spent the night in prison before being released on bail.  She then joined her band mates on a plane bound for the United States.

Berrabah joined the Sugababes in 2005, replacing Mutya Buena.

Alec Baldwin Blames the Media

The star, who has been making headlines after leaving an abusive telephone message for his daughter, Ireland, says that he can’t understand how a complete stranger can intrude on someone else’s private life.

In an interview on television’s The View, the actor said, "The guy that’s responsible for this tape coming out – I called some friends of mine in LA and said, ‘What’s his story?’ And they told me his story, what he’s all about, where he’s coming from, what are his secrets. I couldn’t get over how they could beat you all day long."

Alec Baldwin, 49, left a verbally abusive message on his 11 year-old daughter’s cell phone.  During the call, Baldwin called his daughter a "selfish little pig".  Baldwin and his ex-wife, Kim Basinger, have had battled over custody and visitation rights for Ireland for years.

Jennifer Aniston and Vince Vaughn Reunite

According to American tabloids, Vaughn spent the night at the Hollywood home of his former girlfriend, Aniston.

The two met on the set of the film The Break-Up in 2005, and dated for several months.

Last December, the two announced their split.  This past weekend is prompting rumours of a reconciliation.

The Beckhams Choose Their California Home

According to People magazine, the family will move in mid-July to a home that is, "modern, airy, very light and spacious with lots of windows".

A source told the magazine, "Victoria will land in L.A. on Saturday to sign the contract. She will meet with interior designers, discuss fixtures and all aspects of the house plan before flying out shortly afterwards."

"The house they’ve chosen is big but not huge," says the source. "That said, it is big enough for them as a family of five, along with additional space for family members that will visit from Britain."

The Beckhams are moving to California because David has signed a contract with the Los Angeles Galaxy.  The California soccer team paid $250 million for the former England team captain to play in the United States.

Tickets Sell Out for Diana Concert

The concert was organised by the two sons of the princess, Prince William and Prince Harry.  The 10,000 tickets for the July 1 show were gone quickly.

This year, the concert will feature performances by Elton John, Bryan Ferry, Joss Stone, Pharrell Williams, Duran Duran, Lily Allen, Kanye West, Rod Stewart, Status Quo, Natasha Bedingfield, The Feeling, James Morrison and Orson.

Proceeds from the show will go entirely to charities that the princess was involved with before her death.

Britney Spears To Sell Her Story

The star will be writing her version of her marriage to Kevin Federline, according to Contactmusic.

Spears recently completed a detoxification treatment in California, and has revealed that her ex-husband nearly drove her to suicide.

Publishers are offering the singer $10 million for her story.  Spears’ representatives have made no comment.

Meryl Streep’s Next Film Delayed

The film from Chinese filmmaker Shi-Zheng Chen is considered to be too similar to the events of April 17 at Virginia Tech University where 33 people died.  The release date has been delayed for an indefinite period of time.

Dark Matter is the story of a Chinese university student who takes revenge on his fellow students and faculty members when his chances of earning a Nobel prize are lost due to political reasons.
