Hugh Grant Wins His Court Battle

The English actor, who is best known for the films About a Boy, Four Weddings and a Funeral and Notting Hill, filed a defamation suit against Associated Newspapers, the parent company of both the Daily Mail and Mail on Sunday.

The papers had published stories that Grant’s relationship with Jemima Khan ended because Grant was flirting with another woman, and acting strangely concerning the marriage of his former girlfriend, Liz Hurley.

The actor claimed that the stories were, "almost entirely fictional articles about my private life".

The two papers have issued an apology to Grant and are retracting the stories.  Grant will donate the money to the Marie Curie Cancer Care charity.

Crazed Fan Attacks Sandra Bullock’s Husband

Marcia Valentine attacked James Sunday evening in front of the couple’s home.  Sandra Bullock and James’ 10 year-old son both witnessed the incident.

This is not the first time that the woman has stalked the stars.  She is now charged with assault with a deadly weapon.

A representative for the couple said, "The incident did occur. Both Jesse James and Sandra Bullock are fine and it is now in the hands of the authorities."

Angelina Jolie In Washington

The star went to the American capital for the opening of the Global Action for Children organisation.  Jolie took the opportunity to ask President George W. Bush to invest more money into the education systems of underdeveloped countries.

Jolie said, "This is a happy day because it is not often enough that these children are represented in this town."

Global Action for Children hopes that the Bush administration will give an additional $2.5 million each year to benefit the orphans of foreign countries.  Jolie also mentionned that orphans in these countries are often forced into slavery or prostitution.

"Our government has the power to choose which path these children are going to take.  We know the consequences of our inaction."

Lil’ Kim Gets Back on the Microphone

Lil’ Kim worked with Diddy to do a remix of the song Last Night, which has been put on his MySpace page.  It is the first recording Lil’ Kim has done since her release from prison last year.

The song also marks the first time that Lil’ Kim and Diddy worked together since Notorious K.I.M. was released in 2000.

No details have been announced regarding whether the singer will record a complete album.

In June of 2005, Lil’ Kim was sent to prison and fined for being found guilty of perjury.  In 2001, the star earned a Grammy Award with Christina Aguilera, Mya and Pink for their performance of the song Lady Marmalade.

Arrest Warrant Issued for Richard Gere

According to authorities, the two celebrities are accused of acting in an obsene manner in public.

The incident took place a few weeks ago, when the actor was in India to participate in a charity event for AIDS.  While at the event, Gere embraced and kissed the Indien actress.  His gestures shocked the crowd and riots began in the streets.  Public displays of affection are considered to be obsene in the Indien culture.

Queen Latifah To Star in Remake

The original film was released in 1984 and starred Steve Martin and Lily Tomlin.

According to Variety, the new film will be directed by Adam Shankman, who will be working with Latifah for the third time.  The two previously worked together on the films Bringing Down the House and Hairspray.

All of Me is the story of a dying heiress whose soul inhabits the body of an attorney.  No date has been announced for the start of filming.

Jenny McCarthy Plans Next Film

According to Variety, the former Playboy Playmate who has appeared in the films Scary Movie 3, Scream 3, and others, will play the girlfriend of the film’s lead character, Larry.

Witless Protection is the story of a sheriff who believes that he has witnessed a kidnapping.  When he attempts to rescue the woman, he learns that the supposed kidnappers are really FBI agents.

In addition to McCarthy, the comedy also stars Ivan Milicevic, Yaphet Kotto, Peter Stormare, Joe Mantegna and Eric Roberts.

Filming of Witless Protection is set to begin on May 21 in Chicago.

More than 8 million readers cast votes in the poll, which resulted in a win for the 25 year-old star.
The editor of FHM explained that other factors helped Alba to win, saying, "She’s a talented, successful and beautiful actress who clearly has sex appeal that translates worldwide."

Hugh Grant Arrested

London police have confirmed that the 46 year-old star was arrested on suspicion of assault.

Ian Whittaker, a photographer, told the Daily Star that Grant kicked him before throwing a plate of food at him when Whittaker was attempting to take a picture.

The actor was released by police after questionning, but the incident is still under investigation.
