Will The Police Reunite in 2007?

This year marks the 30th anniversary of the single Roxanne, the first real success for the band in North America.  In recognition of the special anniversary, it is believed that the trio will embark on a final tour together.  Rumours are already suggesting that The Police will take the stage in the next few months.

Sting, the lead singer of the band, hits that they are in negotiations on his official website.

The Police, who have not performed together since 1986, will be releasing a DVD later this year.

Fans have been waiting for a Police reunion for more than two decades.  The trio never announced that they were breaking up, but may now come together again for a farewell tour.

Whitney Houston’s Items Go To Auction

Next week, the Bodyguard star will be selling several of her items at auction.  More than 300 items, including clothing, a piano, other musical instruments, and remaining items from her 1999 world tour will be sold.

Houston hopes to repay some of her debts with the money brought in, which is expected to be between $175 000 and $200 000.

Houston, 43, separated from singer Bobby Brown in 2006, after fourteen years of marriage.

Billboard Chooses Modern Times as Year’s Best

The latest release from the American songwriter tops the list, according to a panel of 48 musical critics.

Dylan beat competition from Bruce Springsteen, who took second place.  Gnarls Barkley reached the number three position with their first CD, St. Elsewhere, followed by the English sensation Artic Monkeys.

Here is the top ten list of the albums of the year according to Billboard magazine:

1. Bob Dylan, "Modern Times" (Columbia) — 65 points

Watch the Trailer for Shrek the Third

The third installment of the adventures of the famous ogre features the voices once again of Mike Myers, Eddie Murphy, Cameron Diaz, Antonio Banderas, Rupert Everett, Julie Andrews, John Cleese, Justin Timberlake, Eric Idle, John Krasinksi, Cheri Oteri, Amy Poehler, Maya Rudolph, Amy Sedaris and Ian McShane.

The Dreamworks film, which opens in theatres on May 18, hopes to be as successful as its two predecessors, which earned more than $1.34 million.

Jennifer Lopez and Jim Carrey Deny Rumours

The two stars have been suspected of being interested in the controversial religion studied by Tom Cruise.
According to the New York Post, Lopez and Carrey, who attended Cruise’s wedding in Italy to Katie Holmes, have taken the initial steps to learn more about Scientology.
Spokespeople for both of the stars deny the story.  A representative for Lopez said, "I have no knowledge of this, but I probably wouldn’t have a comment on it if I did."
Carrey’s publicist adds, "He is not taking classes."

The Killers Plan Bond Theme

According to The Sun, the group has been asked to write a song for the 22nd film of the James Bond series.  The next 007 project, currently titled Risico, is expected to be released on November 7, 2008.

A source told the London paper, "The Killers have reached the perfect point in their career to do a Bond track. They have the right sound, right look and a huge fanbase, making them the perfect choice."

Babel Dominates the Golden Globes

The drama starring Brad Pitt and Cate Blanchett is in the race for best film of the year.  Also nominated in that category are  Bobby, The Departed, Little Children and The Queen.

In the category for the title of actress of the year, the list of contenders are Penelope Cruz (Volver), Judi Dench (Notes On A Scandal), Helen Mirren (The Queen), Kate Winslet (Little Children), and Maggie Gyllenhaal (SherryBaby).

For actor of the year, the nominees are Leonardo DiCaprio (The Departed), Leonardo DiCaprio (Blood Diamond), Peter O’Toole (Venus), Will Smith (The Pursuit Of Happyness) and Forest Whitaker (The Last King Of Scotland).

Clint Eastwood was nominated twice in the best director category for Flags of Our Fathers and Letters from Iwo Jima.  The other directors up for the award are Stephen Frears (The Queen), Alejandro Gonzalez Inarritu (Babel), and Martin Scorsese (The Departed).

The Golden Globes will take place on January 15 in Los Angeles.

Brandon Routh To Star in New Film

The original film, Harold & Kumar Go to White Castle, was released in 2004.

Producers are hoping to make a sequel to the comedy with John Cho and Kal Penn.  Additionally, director Neil Patrick Harris will be returning for the project, according to MTV.

Kevin Federline Threatens to Tell All

According to the American magazine Star, the dancer-turned-rapper is considering exposing some of the singer’s secrets. Federline would include details about his estranged wife’s drinking problem, drug use, and sexual attraction to other women.

A source revealed, "Kevin is either hoping a publisher will pay him big money for the book or that Britney will cough up more cash than what’s in their prenup to keep him from spilling the beans."

According to the couple’s pre-nuptial agreement, Federline could receive $360,000, as well as $7 million for the sale of their Malibu home.

According to the tabloid, Federline is also asking for sole custody of their two sons, and an additional $10 million.
