Rolling Stone Magazine Announces Year’s Best

The hit Crazy from Gnarls Barkley topped the list as the year’s best song according to the musical magazine.

The first disc from Bob Dylan in five years, Modern Times, earned the title of best album.

Here is the top ten list of the best song of 2006, according to Rolling Stone:

Watch the Trailer for Reign Over Me

In the drama, Sandler plays a man who lost his family in the 9/11/01 attacks on New York.  He then bumps into his old college roommate, who is now a psychiatrist.  Their renewed friendship helps him overcome his grief.

Directed by Mike Binder (The Upside of Anger, The Sex Monster, The Mind of the Married Man), the feature film will open in March in America.

A Sequel for Zoolander

Stiller, 41, made the announcement to USA Today.  Stiller added that his co-star from the 2001 film, Owen Wilson, would also return for the sequel.

Stiller explained, "It’s almost more difficult to work together as everybody has gotten successful. Everybody is doing their own thing, and it’s sometimes hard to get together."

Zoolander also starred Christine Taylor, Jerry Stiller, Will Ferrell and Milla Jovovich, in addition to Ben Stiller and Owen Wilson.

George Clooney Fights for Darfour

The star, accompanied by actor Don Cheadle, and two former Olympic athletes, are in Egypt, after spending several hours in China campaigning for assistance in Darfour.

Clooney has been bringing world-wide attention to Darfour, a war-torn region of Sudan, where millions of refugees are being found dead.

The actor has chosen China and Egypt to ask for help because their politicians have been successful working with the leaders of Sudan in the past.  Earlier this year, Clooney went before the United Nations to ask for help in the region.

Clooney is expected to return to the United States on Thursday.

Julia Roberts To Star in New Film

The romantic comedy follows the story of a woman whose husband breaks her heart when by having an extramarital affair.

The film will be directed by Scott Coffey, a long-time friend of Roberts. 

Julia Roberts is currently working on the film Charlie Wilson’s War along with Tom Hanks, Phillip Seymour Hoffman and Amy Adams.

Courtney Love Is Free

On Monday, a Los Angeles judge lifted the probation from the Hole singer and widow of the late Kurt Cobain.

The decision was like a Christmas gift to Love, 42, who had spent a lot of time before the magistrate.  Howard Weitzman, Love’s attorney, stated, "All cases were dismissed and the record was expunged before Judge Rand Rubin, who made a point that was really cool. He said, ‘You have done more than expected, and many times it doesn’t happen that way.’"

Courtney Love didn’t hide the fact that she was overjoyed, saying, "I’m so happy and excited. I’m relieved. I feel like a weight has been lifted off my shoulders."

United 93 Honoured in New York

The film, which recounts the story of one of the planes hijacked during the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001, topped the list, above the film The Queen.

Helen Mirren, the actress who played Elizabeth II in The Queen, was named best actress, and the project also won the prize for best screenplay.

Forest Whitaker took the best actor award for his role in the film The Last King of Scotland.

Martin Scorsese was named best director for his film The Departed.

The president of the critics group said of United 93, "I think everybody agrees it was an amazing film in terms of telling the story without pushing a political point of view."

A Special Concert for Princess Diana

A concert will be presented on July 1 at London’s Wembley Stadium.  Today, the Princess would be 46.

Sir Elton John, Duran Duran, Joss Stone, Bryan Ferry and hip-hop star Pharrell Williams will all take part in the show.

At a press conference, Prince William explained, "We both wanted to put our stamp on it. We want it to represent exactly what our mother would have wanted."

To reflect Diana’s love of dance and music, the English National Ballet will also perform to the music of Andrew Lloyd Webber.
