Diddy To Launch New Disc in September

In an interview with MTV Europe, the star revealed that Mary J. Blige, Christina Aguilera, Brandy, Busta Rhymes, Nas and Will.I.Am will all join him on the album.

The singer, who has recently become a successful business man, explained what will be found on the upcoming release.  He said, "I’m taking from what I’ve learned from dance music, electroclash, techno, hip-hop, soul, and pop, and kind of fusing it together."

Diddy also mentioned that the first single from the disc will be a club song, saying, "We are going to bring a lot of high fashion, a lot of energy, a lot of sex, a lot of drugs, spirituality, good times."

The singer hasn’t released an album since 2001’s The Saga Continues.

Kim Basinger to Join 24

The 52 year-old star told IMDB that she recently told the show’s star, actor Kiefer Sutherland, that she was a fan of the series.  Basinger and Sutherland worked together in the film The Sentinel.

Basinger commented on her possible new job by saying, "I love that show. That would be cool."

Sutherland also showed his enthusiasm for Basinger to join the cast, saying, "I’m gonna hold her to that."

Nick Lachey Talks About Breakup with Jessica

In an interview with Rolling Stone magazine, the former 98 Degrees singer talked about his life in the past five months since the divorce.  He said, "I don’t know if there were other men. But if she did cheat, it was the result of something bigger, not the reason we didn’t work."

He added, "Sometimes I think it would be easier if I had just walked in the house and found her in bed with a guy. That would be clear-cut. End of story. I wouldn’t have to deal with the uncertainty of adultery."

Pete Doherty Avoids Prison

The English singer and former boyfriend of supermodel Kate Moss was sentenced to two years of community service and 18 months in a drug treatment facility.

According to the judge who handed down the verdict, Judge Jane McIvor, Doherty’s efforts to leave drugs behind him would be "a long and slow process," but she praised him for "showing significant signs of compliance and effort."

Cannes Competition Line-Up Announced

Nineteen films have officially been entered into the competition for 2006.  Among the entries are several well-known directors, including Nanni Moretti, Ken Loach, Sofia Coppola and Pedro Almodovar.

As previously announced, the film Da Vinci Code from Ron Howard will be opening the festivities.  The French film Transylvania by Tony Gatlif will be the final presentation.

Actor Vincent Cassel will host the event, which begins on May 17.  A jury of panelists will be lead by Wong Kar Wai, who will also co-host the closing ceremonies on May 28.

Several celebrity presenters will be taking part in the festival, including Tom Hanks, Bruce Willis, Hugh Jackman and Kirsten Dunst.  Here is a complete list of the films in competition for the Palme d’Or:

Tom Hanks Joins Cast of Mamma Mia

Producers have been working on bringing the stage production based on the music of Abba to theatres for more than a year.  According to Daily Variety, Hanks and his production company, Playtone, have teamed with Bjorn Ulvaeus and Benny Anderson, former Abba members, to create the movie.

Featuring the songs of the popular 1970s band, the film is expected to be released to coincide with the 10th anniversary of the musical in London at the end of the year.

Madonna To Be Crucified On Stage

According to England’s The Sun, the singer will be enter the stage from above, attached to a giant cross.  The cross will be made of diamonds and Swarovski crystals, and will cost nearly $10 million to make.

Although the star now follows the Kabbalah religion, she still likes to use Catholic imagery to shock.  In 1989, her video for the song Like A Prayer caused and uproar when it featured her making love to a saint in a church. 

Madonna’s Confession Tour will begin in May in Los Angeles.  She will tour America and then travel to Europe, where she will finish in July.

Britney and Kevin On Solid Ground

In an interview with Spin magazine, the dancer said that he doesn’t believe in divorce.  He said, "I ain’t gettin’ no divorce. F*** that!"

He added, "I don’t believe in that s***. Once you get married, you’re in it for the fight."

Britney Spears and Kevin Federline were married in September, 2004.

Celine Dion May Be in Ocean’s 13

According to Sky News, Dion, who performs at Caesar’s Palace in Las Vegas, has been asked by director Steven Soderberg to participate in the third entry of the film series.

Singer Barry Manilow, who also performs in Las Vegas at the Hilton Hotel, is also being considered for a cameo.

Filming for Ocean’s 13 is set to begin in July.  The cast includes George Clooney, Brad Pitt, Matt Damon, Andy Garcia, Don Cheadle, Bernie Mac, Casey Affleck, Scott Caan, Eddie Jemison, Shaobo Qin, Carl Reiner, Elliott Gould and Ellen Barkin.  The movie should be ready for audiences in June, 2007.

Teri Hatcher Gets an Apology

Wednesday, The Sun expressed its regrets for a news story that was published within its pages.  The story stated that the 41 year-old American actress was having sexual relations in a van parked outside of her home.

The newspaper printed an apology to Hatcher, saying that the story was, "totally incorrect".  Furthermore, the paper was sorry, "for the embarrassment caused," by the story.

An undisclosed sum of money was also paid to the star as a result of the case being heard in the courts.

Hatcher is still suing another tabloid, The Daily Sport, for printing the same story.
