That shiny new modification might feel like the perfect way to make your ride truly yours, but your wallet could take a serious hit when it’s time to sell. The harsh reality? Certain upgrades that seem like smart investments actually tank your car’s resale value.

With America spending billions of dollars on Donald Trump’s war on Iran, Trump is now asking for more from American taxpayers. On April 3, Donald Trump requested a 40 percent rise in the Pentagon’s defence budget, asking for an additional $1.5 trillion of taxpayer dollars to fund his war. The White House has tabled the request in Congress, and if approved, that amount would set military spending at its highest level in modern history. The administration coupled the proposal with the announcement of $73 billion in cuts spread across many domestic agencies, including the elimination of key federal health, housing and education programs, some of which serve minority groups and the poor.
While Republicans control Congress with a majority, experts are doubtful that Trump’s grand request will be approved. Trump’s blueprint would add trillions to the U.S.’s national debt without additional cuts, and with Republicans already having joined Democrats to reject the president’s last proposal for dramatic spending cuts. While Republicans focus on appeasing Trump, they also need to worry about their constituents, who are seeing the consequences of Trump’s war.
Trump and his team have stressed the need for this additional funding. Trump claimed that the US is in dire need of munitions and other supplies as the US enters month two of its created conflict. Trump confirmed that military spending must be America’s priority, even if it comes at the expense of vital social programs.
It’s not possible for us to take care of day care, Medicaid, Medicare, all of these individual things,
-Donald Trump
While Trump claims America does not have enough money to spend on healthcare services, his war on Iran has now surpassed a cost of $12bn taxpayer dollars.
Republicans balk
Trump’s newest blueprint will most likely create a slew of problems in Congress, as Republicans balance their need to follow Trump’s orders and fear for their own midterm election results. Polls have shown Republicans taking a hit in popularity as their Congress has continually failed to fund social programs. While Republicans tried valiantly to blame their failures on the Democratic party, having majority control over Congress proves otherwise. Both Democrats and Republicans have expressed doubts regarding military spending, and Trump’s newest directive would result in tangible changes to social programs that Americans rely on.
Even with Republican voters feeling the effects of slashed social programs, the White House still asked Congress to slash domestic spending by about 10 percent, targeting core government services, including money meant to respond to natural disasters, train new teachers, root out tax fraud, research cures for diseases and develop clean energy technology. Overall, the President has now requested more than $2 trillion in spending for the 2027 fiscal year. Trump did not give an update on the future of entitlement programs such as Medicare and Medicaid. The White House also claimed that revenues would rise next fiscal year, but the war with Iran has recently led many economists to question the White House and its assumptions.
Gas prices up
While Trump asks for a deeper war chest, Americans are feeling the consequences of their president’s petulant war. Gas prices have risen nearly 40 percent since Trump attacked Iran, and National gas prices are now more than $4USD. Diesel prices have fared even worse, rising 47 percent since February 28. Diesel gas rose to an average of $5.51 on April 2. With full-size diesel pickups sporting tanks ranging from 20 to 40 gallons, American pickup truck drivers are spending more than $100 USD at the pump every time they fill.

On February 28, 2026, the US government and Israel undertook a joint operation in Iran, with the US subsequently declaring it was at war with the country. The attacks triggered retaliatory strikes from Iran, targeting US and Israeli military bases across the Middle East. According to Donald Trump, there is no timeline for this war, and the US will continue its operations in the country until it sees a significant regime change, as well as an end to Iran’s supposed nuclear program.
US and Israeli strikes killed Iran’s Supreme Leader, Ali Khamenei, on Day One of the war, completing Trump’s supposed goal. Khamenei has been using deadly violence against civilian protesters in Tehran, and his killing has been the only positive piece of Donald Trump’s illegal intervention. Donald Trump changed his reasoning for attacking Iran after Khamenei’s death, instead claiming he attacked Iran because he had certain information that Iran was going to attack Israel and the United States. Israel calls the strategy ‘forward defence’.
Cost of war
As of April 1, preliminary figures show harrowing victim counts across the Middle East. In Iran, more than 1,900 people have been killed by US and Israeli strikes. US forces have struck more than 7,000 locations in Iran, and alongside the 1,937 killed, another 24,800 Iranians have been injured, and more than 3 million people have been displaced. A US strike targeting an all-girls elementary school killed 168 children. In Lebanon, more than 1,000 people have been killed by Israeli strikes, with another 3,100 injured and more than 1 million civilians displaced. Thirteen US servicemembers have been killed, and 19 people have been killed in Israel. Since February 28, 168 people have been killed by Iranian strikes across Gulf Countries.

Oil prices surged again on April 1, and Donald Trump dashed all hopes of a quick end to his war on Iran. Trump made a 19-minute speech on April 1 that sent fresh waves of anxiety through Wall Street and pushed gasoline prices higher for Americans and the rest of the world. In his address, President Donald Trump warned that U.S. strikes on Iran would intensify. The message confirmed fears that the Strait of Hormuz will remain in peril for the coming weeks. The Strait of Hormuz is a narrow waterway under Iranian control that carries roughly a fifth of the world’s oil. Stock traders were hoping Trump’s announcement would shine a light at the end of the tunnel, but instead it confirmed fears that energy industries will continue to suffer.
More of the same from Trump
When Trump announced he would be making a speech on April 1, experts began theorizing. Some believed that Donald Trump would announce a plan to end the war, giving Americans a rough timeline. Others believed he would announce an escalation: either confirming American troops in Iran or announcing other new operations. Instead, he reiterated the same talking points that he’s been using since the beginning of March. Trump claimed once again that the war has already been won, even though the US continues to bomb Iran. Trump claimed that the war was necessary and that it would be wrapping up soon. Trump has previously said all three of these statements.
While Trump claimed that the war had already been won and that it will be over soon, he gave absolutely no details backing up his claims. Trump did not provide details on a deal with Iran to end the war, and Trump claimed on March 11 that the war would end ‘soon’. Trump reiterated that Iran is currently assembling a nuclear arsenal to use on America, but once again failed to provide evidence. Trump’s own intelligence chief, Tulsi Gabbard, confirmed that “Iran is not building a nuclear weapon”. In a moment of perceived honesty, Trump admitted that the conflict is in part about settling scores with Iran.
This fanatical regime has been chanting, ‘Death to America. Death to Israel for 47 years. Their proxies were behind the murder of 241 Americans in the Marine barracks bombing in Beirut, the slaughter of hundreds of our service members with roadside bombs,
-Donald Trump
With Donald Trump apparently fighting for America’s pride, the war with Iran has no end in sight.

On April 1, every single metric for tracking the price of crude oil and gasoline showed another hike. West Texas Intermediate crude, the U.S. benchmark, surged to around $109 a barrel for May delivery, up more than 9 percent. It landed at $100.12 on March 31. The price of Brent crude, the global benchmark for oil, jumped to $107 a barrel for June delivery, up 6 percent. On March 31, it settled at $101.16. This is the first time that West Texas Intermediate crude has risen above Brent since the war began. The difference in price is due to contrasting contract ending dates. WTI is referencing a price for a nearer delivery date, thus being more susceptible to current pressures affecting the industry.
Stock prices fall
The S&P 500 fell as much as 1.5 percent in early trading in New York on March 31, before recovering to trade roughly flat. The index rose 0.7 percent on April 1. Stock markets across Asia fell on March 2 after seeing a slight rise on the first of the month. The Nikkei 225 in Japan was down 2.4 percent, but stocks in South Korea were the worst performers, falling 4.5 percent. Stocks fell across Europe on April 2 as well. The Stoxx 600, a broad European index, fell 1.5 percent, with markets in Britain, France and Germany all sharply lower.

On Sunday, pop star Britney Spears posted a video on Instagram showing her with her two sons—Sean Preston Federline, 20, and Jayden James Federline, 19. The little family got together for a rare vacation on a boat.
In the video she posted earlier, her son filmed a short clip where he can be seen with his mother, who is dancing and striking a pose in front of the mirror.
Stay kind
A Difficult Life as a Mom
It has been well known for many years that Britney Spears has faced significant challenges in her life as a mother.
After her separation from Kevin Federline in 2006, Britney Spears lost primary custody of her two children, Sean Preston Federline and Jayden James Federline.
The court granted custody to Kevin Federline to ensure the children’s well-being at a time when Britney was going through significant personal and media-related difficulties.
It’s worth noting that she was deprived of parental authority and control over her own life for many years due to her legal conservatorship.
Her mother, Lynne Spears, played a supportive role for her daughter and was able to maintain contact with her grandchildren, but she never had legal custody. This situation illustrates judicial decisions aimed at protecting the children’s best interests, despite the grandparents’ desire to remain close.
Rare Family Moments
Since Britney Spears never had primary custody of her children, she hasn’t always been able to fully enjoy motherhood alongside her sons. Recently, she broke her silence regarding troubling comments made by her ex, Kevin Federline, about her private life.
According to Britney, she was only able to see one of her sons for 45 minutes over the course of five years, a situation that highlights the ongoing tensions surrounding custody and parental rights. This revelation has stirred strong emotions among her fans and reignited the debate about her struggles to maintain a connection with her children.
Details about these revelations can be found right here.
We wish her precious moments with her sons. Despite the trials and difficult times, a mother always remains a tender-hearted person, happy to see her children grow and thrive. Every moment shared then becomes precious, a testament to the unconditional love that binds a mother to her children, even when circumstances make closeness more complicated.
For Britney Spears, these moments of family happiness remain essential and symbolize the strength and resilience needed to overcome the challenges related to her personal life and motherhood.
